I'm surprised we haven't seen any forum mods post anything regarding this weekend event.

It yields a few very valuable prizes. It's basically a refinement game that uses special event refinements. The higher tier you can get an item, the more valuable of an item you can acquire from the store. The end box has a "high" chance of getting an epic mount, epic companions, potion tray equipment, coal wards and more. I'm psyched to farm the heck out of this event.

    Yes, if you want to get something out of them. The main currency is the Doohickey which takes many many grommets to get to. I actually like the Doohickey equipped for leveling a low level character, but if you spend them you have a small chance to get a couple of pretty amazing items. The apparatus (110% mount) and the Forgehammer (Great for a crafter). Epic quality items both. There are not many events where you even have a chance to get Epic items.

    Hey so should we wait for double refinement to refine them? Will the vendor with the prizes still be there?

    So whats the drop rates on these refinement items? I've been farming lvl 60 monsters for the last 5 hrs and haven't gotten a single one. Is this just a stupidly low drop rate or are these monsters just don't have the items in their loot table?

    Dear friends, do not farm for Doohickey because it is impossible to get that one by yourself: you would have to buy a lot of stuff. Why? Because once you get a grommet drop, there is a 45 s cool down meaning that you can not get more than 1 in 45 secs. You need more than 17 000 ref points (total) to make Doohickey. So you would need 3400+ grommets or ~42 hours of non stop 100% efficient farming. And we all know that this is not possible in the time frame given to us. So what happens is that you are FORCED to buy stuff. I don't think that the mount is worth it unless you have tons and tons of astral diamonds and don't know what to do with them.

    I don't know if your calculations are correct, but i have a feeling that they might be. I've been farming for six hours now (with two failed refinements in a row at 95% chance(!) - i haven't experience that once before) and it certainly feels like i wont be able to get the final object (Doohickey?) in time ...and especially considering failed refinements. I bet i will fail again and that will set me back hours of farming.
    What were they thinking? The rewards aren't even that great.

    i was running around in the Whispering Caverns and I was getting a pretty regular drop well enough I cannot say if it was 45 seconds per drop but seems close together.

    I'm not sure if his numbers are right, but the event is definitely impossible unless you drop serious AD on it.

    Drop rate has not been great for me either. 45 seems about right.
    Seems like they are supposed to have "blueprints" for sale for Zen, but they are missing as well.

    I'm sure you mean well, but it is apparent that you do not know all the ways to obtain the supplies. The most important one is NOT farming. There are 2 hour tasks (faster with blue or purple workers) added to some professions that can manufacture 5 grommets, 2 cogs and 1sprocket with a tier 3 result, 1 sprocket and 5 grommets with a tier 2 and 1 sprocket for a tier 1. For most players, there is no reason to not be able to get at least a tier 2 result in one or more professions.

    Maybe I overlooked, but what professions are you talking about? Only one I have lvl up is leadership.

    I still enjoy the "farming" process because the next event is double refinement! Just saying. I have a HAMSTER load of items ready to take care of my artifacts

    I have my leatherworkers going for Tier 3 at a 60% chance. Maybe I'll get super lucky and be rewarded with an Ancient Curio.

    I got a little bored farming today. After reading the 45 second drops I did my own timing while in the Whispering Caverns and yeah, it seems that is about right. Though the interesting part was I only go drops from Drow Guards, and Druger Miners other creature types like Flayers would not produce.

    I need to check out the professions I have a lvl 7 artifactor but the option has not popped up for any type of Whicky-Do-Da. Though I'm wondering if I'll make more in AD by selling what I've put together than what I could get from the event.

    I'm guessing you need to at least have a 10th level refinement Whicky-Do-Da, I doubt it will come cheap.

    Most people only focus on one profession to get anywhere. It took me 2,5 months to reach lvl 20 in Leadership So if you chose the "wrong" profession, you're pretty much f**ked in this event. What's next? An event where just TR's can get rewards? Once again you have to question how the devs are functioning.

    That is a choice to focus on one profession and it is not mine. My main will unlock the 9th slot for 3 professions at 20 next week and my secondary already has. I may be in the minority, but I'm hardly the only one.

    This event was thrown in (no notice, no explanations) way to early in the life of the game on Xbox, but it will come around again. Next time, hopefully with advance notice. Either way, players will be more prepared.

    Your comment about an event for TR's is ludicrous, and takes away from whatever valid point you may have had.

    I am curious if the Mechanical Altar is one use only? From what I could find cached on the web, its one use only. However, it seems an awefully steep cost in those cog thingies just to get 10 altars that may give out slightly better invocations.

    My question.... Will we be cable to refine and get the rewards after Tuesday ( ie.. during the double refinement event?) Because the grommets would be twice as worth it.

    I walked around the Whispering Caverns and pulled quite a few from Drow Warriors and Druger Miners. Though I think running dungeons have works just as well.

    Wispering caverns is where I've been going, like deep in there.. lol so that no one iterfears with me. Was doing it with the cults, but way too many people was doing it to. So far I've racked up enough groms to make the one a step down from the best, then traded for a greater mark of power. In thus process I also went from 2 gold to like 60! And gaind enough runstones and enchantments to probably take my artifact from epic to legendary during the "double refinement" coming up. . :p farm that s***!!!
