PVP help ! what is DEFLECTION do??

Im bit confuse about deflection in pvp. A lot of player give different meaning.
which one is the correct one?

A. Reduce damage that you take. ( if this one then what is the different with damage resistance ).

B. Deflecting chance, when trigger, deflect some portion of damage to attacker. the greater number better.

C. Reduce chance to get critical hit.

You deflect some damage, or all.

The attacker, I do not think, gets the ricochet damage.

It is essentially a glancing blow instead of a straight on hit that the armor has to mitigate fully.

E.g. If your deflection chance is 20% & deflection severity is 75% then you have 20% chance to take 75% less damage.

And if you deflect a control power, its duration is reduced.

No one. Deflect occurs rendomly and is determined by Deflection Chance.
If occured, reduces incomming damage and control duration by Deflection Severity %.
