That really depends on what your goals are for this build. Survivability is really important this mod but there are a number of ways to get there.
Try to focus on gear and powers that play well off of each other.
Greater Seldarine set + Barkshield:
The Seldarine set heals you for 2% of your max hp every time you're hit for more than 10%. Barkshield shields you 3 times for progressively smaller amounts per hit. I find that even in Icewind Dale the first two hits I receive do next to no damage, and the first one usually just pops up as "0". this is a great setup for a high damage build, as it buys you a small window to pulverize your enemies while taking mostly negligible damage. Emblem of the Seldarine also heals your allies on damage taken for around 2500 hp per tick for several seconds, if you choose to have it as your primary artifact.
The cloak in this set will get you a bonus of 8 AC, which is about 4% damage resistance. The Belt will get you +2 Dex (yay base damage and deflect!) and +2 Con (meh. a handful of hp.).
Greater Lathander's set + Soulforged:
This is actually pretty valuable for team play. Archers have a tendency to go squish easily. Soulforged will make you pop back up immediately, as long as you have a charge. Once you get dropped and pop back up it's 90 seconds before it'll work again. The thing that makes the Greater Lathander's set work well with it is that every time you're returned from a near-death state, it heals your party for 50% of their max HP, and you're immune to injury from death (you save a lot of gold on injury kits, but you'll still need them if you trigger a trap).
The Cloak from the Greater Lathander set will give you +8 AC as well, and the belt gives you +2 Wisdom (yay crit chance!) and +2 charisma (which helps with combat advantage). This set with soulforged is arguably* better than the Seldarine/Barkshield set, HOWEVER, the Eye of Lathander artifact is a real HAMSTER to get. It's an astoundingly rare bind-on-pickup drop from dread ring lair bosses.
I don't really recommend Negation for an HR unless it's somewhere between pure and transcendent in rank. Even then it's not ideal, but if it's what you have and you don't want to invest in a new armor enchant, I'd probably recommend the Greater Seldarine set to round out Negation's slow ramp up. Negation relies on getting hit to stack resistance, and we're not in the business of protracted battles where we start off weak, especially if we're running solo.
That's all I've got for now.
*the combination of the set bonus and power of the armor enchant with Lathander/Soulforged is more useful in high level content, but the fact that Greater Lathander set focuses on defense instead of deflect is kind of a bummer. Seldarine gets you extra deflect which is not affected by enemy armor penetration, making it a better static defensive option in this mod. You'll probably do well with either setup, though.
Assuming archery spec equals PVE focus, soulforged is the way to go.
Yeah considering archery is a more Crit-based dps role, and usually more common in PvE. you'd want Lostmauths artifact set and a soulforged, and probably a vorpal. at least for best dps. and soulforged is a given in PvE.
Lostmauth only procs on the first hit of a DoT for HR's. Not exactly super awesome for trappers or archers. Combat could probably put that set to good use, though.

Ooooh really?!? I did not know that! Thank god I haven't bought lostmauth set for my mates HR yet then lol. Might suggest He keeps the Dex belt, and goes for an AP gain cloak like Lostmauth, (though the stats on seldarine are pretty nice)
That being said. what artifacts are you going on Trapper HR? PvP Oriented he currently has Sigil of Controller and Lantern of Revelation , and hes got a junk epic atm (he's level 66, he only just came back, but at the moment in PvP He absolutely melts anything that isnt a OP/ Blocking GF, but dies quickly because wearing level 60 profound / Purified black ice so no hp) . I'm thinking Vanguard Banner / Wheel of Elements (If they dont nerf it) or Imperial rod (with vanguards thats 2000 lifesteal so 5% from artifacts) Other possibilities We were looking at were blue dragon heart, and GWF sigil.
As my opinion was going for decent lifesteal and high crit/arpen (especially with the arpen PVP change and the fix too roots and arpen) Power comes naturally but I didn't think trying to stack power sacrificing arpen/crit was a good idea, However I never mained HR, and only have a level 60 one that I used too play occasionally. Is your HR BiS / Near BiS and how does he function? How does Trans Elven battle fare for Trapper? (have a few normals lying around could probably manage too make a trans if I sold some other enchants.) Looking at the Mod6 tool, could go like 12k power 8k crit 6k arpen using darks and azures.
Also. Regarding Combat. Doesnt Wilds medicine only work off Base HP, not hp from gear? Or is it off base hp (so essentially.. with 10 stacks and 100k hp you'd have 3.3k worth of hp ticks each second , Increased by whatever % regen you have) I felt that lucky blades was a bit on the weak side, 10% ap gain isnt that amazing. and Skirmishers gambit while good, unless you have really high crit losing 10% isnt worth the 50% severity, and if you had lostmauth you wouldn't really want to lose the crit anyway!

In PvP no idea, I only ever see trappers.
I ended up going for a Soulforge and for weapon wise I chose Plaguefire; quite content with both however can't remember what artifact belt it is though works fine for me.
Jadis 25K Level 80 Warlock; Cassandra.. Wizard; work in progress.
