Major defense armor kit not working

I just made a major defence armor kit.

I have head, armor and foot pieces that are ilvl 122 (bought black ice or crafted version).

The armor kit says it requires ilvl 120+ items.

I double click the kit and get the anvil cursor, click the target and nothing happens.

Any clues ?

This question comes up often. You have to unequip the armor piece and apply the kit while the armor piece is in your inventory.

They should allow it to be used while equipped. I bought and sold ak's the first time through because I thought they were bugged. Or it should be on the tooltip, at least.
