this unexpected event along with some other events i the past, was unfair to us European players as we are not wake up or play at these hours (at least most of us)
i would appreciate if you guys can do same event in more reasonable hours so we European players can have a taste of this event too.

I apologize once again. In the future, we'll definitely spread things out much more. It was not intended to be an event or contest of any sort; it was more of a "let's do something surprising and spontaneous."

They screwed up by actually posting the codes anyway , talk about bot friendly , in future either run these things for the entire community i.e everybody can imput a code (that's what they used to do when they were trying to get people to download arc , gave away codes to get companions to everybody) , or don't bother at all , if you are worried about people making several arc alts in order to collect loads then just make the rewards bind on pickup.....

Actually having someone in-game that could give these packs as awards for, well, darn near anything, would have been the ideal way to go, if you ask me. Kinda like back in the old NWN days when DM's were a regular occurrence on some of the better PW's and would award XP for actual RP, going out of your way to help a "****", or walking an old lady across the street....
I think people need to get over it. It was actually a cool idea and used all the social media avenues. Yes, you needed to sit on twitter and refresh the page constantly at around the top of the hour. so what.. that was the entire point. They cant give unlimited Troves out since it would hurt the economy even more then its sunk. Most of you need a whaaaambulance for all the whining.
The bad was - When you entered the code, it just said invalid. It needs to be something that points out its been used.
Item - Instead of a trove - make it a companion and maybe a different one every hour and use the ones that are linked to the reclaim guy and are BoP. Possibly something really good in the last hour. Also titles would work. Can always use new and unique DnD titles.
Other then that you really did nothing wrong. People are stupid because they think life is fair. It isn't, get over it.
PS half my guild is EURO and they were playing with me the time this was going on.
Also, it might help if the codes were valid for about 5 minutes and gave you a pack with a random chance for the price instead. People take it much more kindly to be told by a RNG that they only got 10 Residuum than losing the "redeem code within 5 seconds after it being posted" race.
PS: BTW, I got one, even as a European player. Got that bad habit of F5ing the forum between quitting the game and going to bed.
Spontaneous will never work on a game that is worldwide, someone will always be upset. Surprising yes with proper planning and forethought. There is no such thing as Successful Spontaneous Marketing. You really need to go back to a Targeting Marketing Model. Especially since you are starting to remove localisations to save Money. You could still target those populations that are no longer served.
On another note spreading this entire event over the forums, the Blog, Facebook, and Twitter made it a mess and the lesson learned from this is that each one serves a specific Purpose and should stay in its lane. Cross purposing these things does nothing but sow dissent ion and Chaos amongst the Playerbase.

I live in the same time zone as the server and I missed it too. Not devs fault I was sleeping. Glad someone else had some fun while I was getting some winks. Expecting to get every single thing the game offers is like being a homeless guy wandering the city looking for every penny anyone dropped. Have a little joy in life and let the devs have some too.

Having a small nice surprise is better than no surprise at all, so by all means keep that up.
That being said, the way it was implemented gave no chance for casual players to get anything. I noticed the event as it was in progress and had no chance against others who "prepared". So it did become a contest of sorts.
Please stop complaining about everything. How can you complain about a freaking giveaway ?
While I can agree with this sentiment (anything above and beyond the usual is to be commended, indeed) the main problem is that things like this should be implemented in-game, and not through social media. Reward the players that actually are playing, rather than those with the ability to drop everything and cash in on this giveaway without even logging into the game (codes were both awarded AND redeemed outside of the game). With the gateway, campaign completion tokens, and contests that are run through the forums and/or social media, there's already enough reasons to "play" the game without actually playing; so how about rewarding those that are playing? Were there even broadcasts or announcements in game, that this was happening?
And this can go more for the spontaneous bright idea one morning over coffee. Run in-game contests and giveaways; but advertise it! Say "Hey, all this week the devs will be in game running events and contests. Be sure to log in regularly throughout the week for a chance to participate."
Those sentiments would have spoken volumes more than "random spontaneous giveaway via Twitter." Especially when the majority of dungeons have been removed and players feel, more than ever, that there is nothing to do. Let's give players more reasons to log in, not less.

I'm sry as person that come from the marketing \ customer service strategy world I laughed when I saw you event , because I knew what will happened
Your job is among other things try keep the community happy
And when I saw this I thought that u really need to consult next time with experienced person from this world that he would think about it and give u guidelines , among other things -change the giveaways that will be lottery based on spread time and never first to see is winner type .
A bit harsh feedback I know , but u can't fall in this chairs . This game already have problems with the legit community ( bugs ,exploits )
Does it mean don't try something like this again ? No .. Your heart was in the right place
Continue more events and giveaways from time to time
Just need more planning and thinking
And Key word is thinking

I agree can we have this event to?
Trust me - many US players missed out as well because the time was short.

They had different codes on FB, Twitter, the dev blog and here.
That, and it was only during the traditional "workday" and commute times, at least in the PST timezone, anyway, which was a bummer.
