So today I logged on and tried to use some of my Steam Dollars... I play using Steam, NOT Arc. I have $15 worth of Steam Dollars and as recently as YESTERDAY, I was able to go into the Zen Shop (y) and click the basket icon on the bottom and it would let me pick Steam Dollars... TODAY, it redirects me to the ARC Payment center page EVERY TIME! What is going on?????????????? Is this happening to anyone else. So I figured it might be the ARC website that just auto updated on my computer so I try and uninstall it... guess what, ARC will not Uninstall. I have tried everything, it is like a virus. It is literally embedded in my computer. Someone please explain what is going on. Though do understand, I am no **** to computers and work with them for a living so please give me REAL educated answers not bs.
I tried filing a support ticket on ARC... but seriously has anyone ever tried doing that??? I spent 2 hours looking through everything trying to figure out away to actually send a message to ARC letting them know what is going on but there is virtually no place to do it, it literally keeps redirecting you to another dead end. This has been VERY disheartening. Someone please help, otherwise i won't be playing this game much longer.

Right. I'm not sure "Steam Dollars" were ever a valid option. From what I understood, you still had to buy Zen then purchase stuff through Steam.
Regardless, Steam takes about a 30% cut off the top of anything sold through the platform, so it makes sense that PWE wouldn't really want to support people going through them.
The Arc Client works fine for me. It's lightweight and doesn't get in the way of my gaming. I've actually had more problems with Steam in the past than Arc. I would honestly recommend you just use the Arc client to play Neverwinter, or create a shortcut that directly links to the executable.

You can buy Zen through Steam. The way that Steam works is you put money into an account then you can buy games, or in-game purchases with that account.
There has been an issue between Arc/ PWE and Steam... over Zen. I will not get into it only because I have heard rumors... and quite frankly it is none of my business... or any of our's.
That being said, I have not bought Zen through Steam in a few weeks, so it may have changed. BTW... I play through Arc and Steam. When Arc is lagging to hard Steam usually isn't for some reason.
Atwil "At" - Tiefling TR / Saardush - Black Dragonborn GWF / White - Tiefling OP
I haven't spent money on neverwinter in a bit, I throw them money at the start of mods more as a contribution rather because i want anything from the zen store, and I just won't be doing that again if I can't buy through steam.
There are other options but I don't want to deal with them. If the steam cut is 30% well I would have figured they would have wanted 70% of my money rather than 0% but that's their prerogative. Maybe upper management feels that kind of thing is a moral victory.
One might say who cares what you alone do but I'm not a special snowflake, one of the things I know a lot of people on steam like is not not having to deal with other clients. Its one of the reasons people kind of resent ubisoft a lot because we have to run their annoying application to run their games.
I'm sure they discontinued it - perhaps as recently as yesterday, just like they discontinued the use of pre-paid game cards (like Rixty) without much notice.
In my experience, PWE customer support has been good. They haven't always been able to help me, which is frustrating, but I always understood why they couldn't and there have been some very surprisingly helpful responses from them, frankly where I felt they were going above and beyond my expectations in that particularly situation.
Here's the thing. If you send them a nasty note, if you come across as aggressive or otherwise insulting or threatening - expect very little help. They aren't paid well enough to care if one person using some 3rd party service is having problems. They have 1500 tickets in their queue, so you can understand why they'd be... unenthusiastic... about handling some loudmouth **** with kid gloves when the next ticket they see is someone who sounds reasonable and took the time to present their problem in a straightforward way, started with a greeting, ended with a thanks and said please. Think about how a normal person would talk to their mom - if you talk to your mom the way you posted up top there? My mom would have beat me with a stick for talking to her like that, and she'd have been right to do it...
You'll be amazed how much better any customer support person is in any company anywhere if you're nice to them.
I tried to convey the same message. You obviously aren't in support either, because you have a lot more patience with these loudmouth kids than I do:p.
At least you managed to phrase it without the use of any sarcasm. Something I horribly failed at, but I don't have your patience. Hopefully the TS will get either my point or yours.
Since you are having trouble with Steam, shouldn't the first thought be to get in touch with the Steam Support?
And shouldn't you be on their support webpage opening a ticket there to get your money refunded?
And i think it was explained somewhere from a CM, how purchases work on Steam... not a problem for DLCs, but when it comes to ZEN, that's a complete different kind of story.
If you have a problem with Steam, you should ask the Steam Support what is going on... good luck.
I do believe in killing the messenger...
Want to know why?
Because it sends a message!

Respect goes a long way. Save the anger, hostility and threats until after you are mistreated.
That being said, thank you for the report. There is definitely an issue with Steam purchases at the moment and it is being investigated.
