4/4 Prophetic Action: Seeing into the future, you are able to shield all damage from one attack every 60/50/40/30 seconds.
4/4 Warding Flare: You place a divine light that *periodically* shields nearby allies, blocking up to 500% of your weapon damage.
- Will Prophetic Action proc on very small DoT hits, go into cooldown, and be practically useless for the next 30 seconds?
- Does Warding Flare have a 1sec ICD, is it 1sec or is it a proc chance?
- What does it mean by *up to 500%*, are there parameters that cause the damage absorbed to fluctuate between a lower number and 500?
- The CD on Prophetic Action does not the justify that it could activate against such small damage, so correct me if I'm wrong, I think it's a waste.
[Combat (Self)] Your Prophetic Action absorbs 3239 (2556) damage from Sniper's Shot.
[Combat (Self)] Your Prophetic Action absorbs 3270 (1993) damage from Sniper's Shot.
- There are spaces between Warding Flare activation in my combat log, so there is likely an ICD, unlike Empowered Astral Shield. Even so, it's a nice damage blanket in lieu of no better choices.
I'll use Prophetic Action in a few cases, but as a power it is only useful in rare situations. Generally for anything where there are no small hits, and only big ones.
VT: During the lightning phase (frankly, Val's magic missile hurts these days, so it can be useful there).
MC: Dragon boss, again, no small hits and it can help in the lightning phase if one has run out of dodges/mobility.
Tiamat: There are no small hits here, and it can save you from that erinyes one-shot stab.
Apart from those, yeah, it's a pretty useless power (but if you look at the feats/powers on the DC) at least 1/3 of all DC powers are useless or underpowered. We get little dev love.
*So where's the Righteousness for Pally's or Renegade CWs? Or are DC's the only ones that aren't allowed to self-heal?
The best thing about prophetic action is the 25% CC resistance you get from the OH from equipping this class feature since the biggest weakness of a DC is... CC. The feature itself is a bit lackluster, I've seen it protect my DC from a TR's opening lashing blade, but is otherwise too flaky to depend on. Yes, please shield me from that glyph proc, I was very concerned about that 150 dmg.
Survival-wise, the Anointed Champion's Anointed Armor class feature with additional AC/deflect is far more reliable, but if you're dead-set on going DO (particularly if you intend on pvping), you could do worse for a class feature; but again, this is due to the 25% CC resist on the artifact offhand, not the class feature itself.
As for Warding Flare? The "periodic" shielding, coupled with a unreasonable cooldown, makes this encounter less useful than empowered Astral Shield. You can make Astral Shield better by increasing your HP pool. 500% of your weapon damage has a hard cap. There is really no comparison. With only 3 encounters to choose from, this is too underwhelming to choose.

They reworked the mechanic of righteousness a long while ago. Our base healing was reduced, and we heal ourselves for that amount. We heal our teammates MORE than we heal ourselves, but we no longer are handicapped when it comes to self healing.
I wouldn't bother correcting people who obviously haven't noticed that Faithful and Virtuous have been ridiculously powerful healers since the DC rework.
If it's true that the devs tend to ignore the DC forums then it's because we have a LOT of posters who should be taking drama classes/giving out psychic predictions instead of playing Neverwinter.
You there. New to the game? Feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you think getting to end-game is impossible for a casual player like yourself, or maybe you just need to be around a community that helps each other stay sane and competitive with the latest news, current trends, random chitchat and most of all LEGIT (that is, we try to keep things fair) gameplay. If you don't mind being around quirky people and the rare occasional drama (one of our prominent TR members is apparently a mafia godfather) join nw_legit_community at http://www.nwlegitcommunity.shivtr.com/forum_threads/2330542.

That's the thing, our base healing was reduced effectively reducing the self heal portion, whereas healing Paladins have no issue going from under 20% hp to max in PvP (so with healing depression). All I want is some class balance. Really, just look at our heroic feats.
Anyway, that comment was an aside and not at all the main content of the response or this thread.
True enough on the heroic feats. Initiate of the faith is spectacularly bad. You'd need 40k power for a 1% increase in crit chance. That's just laughable.
Though I'd like a rework to those feats, fantasize about it regularly in fact, I can only imagine how strong DCs would be maxed out if that was actually implemented. I can't speak for the virtuous tree as I am faithful, but I've not noticed a problem with self healing. Even with healing depression, I'm seeing gift of faith procs for over 300k. Add incoming healing, regen, boons, and feats to increase overall heals, and you have a self healing monster. I only wish I had more passive heals for my team like healing paladins. But... I can't have it all. I try to be satisfied with what we have, as I seriously doubt DCs are on the dev's radar for buffs anytime soon.
Edit: For the love of healing, we still don't even have an artifact set bonus tailored for us.
Yeah, I have the orb just in case they decide to throw us some table scraps at some point.... Until then, I'll just keep dreaming of a pixelated world where DCs are cherished by the devs like TRs and CWs. I definitely can't complain about where DCs are now, but one always has to dream of something. Mmmmm.... more fashion....
One of my biggest regrets is melting down my infernal armour before this mod. It looked so good with the sash over the breastplate. Now this Burning Set looks absolutely ridiculous, prep collar and all...
I found an armor that has a minimal skirt and looks like a corset. It's a low level item and my current favorite for DCs. I'm a huge believer that fashion and transmutes would be such a cash cow. I know my stupid a$$ would go for it. Imagine. All that money for bug fixes.... WINK FREAKING WINK CRYPTIC.

I transmuted back to the HP set, the Elven Elemental is terrible. I guess that's what you get when your armor designs come from a middle school art contents

There's the mythical tiamat one if you look at the Orb of Tiamat tooltip. LOL
Amulet of Tiamat's Demise
Tiamat's Sash
Orb of Tiamat
Set Bonus: Increases outgoing and incoming healing by 5%
Too bad the first 2 items don't exist in-game
