I have been wondering this as well. My decision was to use them up to level my MH to epic, then to hoard the rest of them. Instead of hitting the Dragons or entering PvP matches on my main I have decided to get my CW to 70, hit the CTA and farm RP.

Save your RP. there are other ways to get that AD.

Name the "other" ways please. If you don't sell items that worth some AD you are doomed forever with a few K's of AD per hours doing the daily events, which is absolutely not worth the time.

My suggestion is if you want something from the zen store like a mount, a companion, a bag or a pack and you don't have the AD, you are better off cash in the boosted Icewind Dale drop now for AD so you can have the SURE things. This RP HAMSTER system is twisting and crumbling every day. It won't survive and think about it. If RP becomes cheap and easier to obtain like if the the Icwwind Dale drop stays, then you can still get easy RP later after you get the SURE goodies you want by selling RP for AD. If drops get nerfed again, no big deal since you won't be able to get enough RP to gear up for the impossible, so called "end game" content since no team will not kick you to begin with. Either way, you are in a no win situation if you don't get the SURE items you want now.

You can run Kessels Retreat, (especially during Skirmish hour), and salvage the rings/necklaces/belts you get, for ADs.

Leadership, dungeons, skirmishes. Whatever tickles your fancy. If it's just those Cwards the OPs after. If not, it becomes a completely different matter. There's no hurry, so there's absolutely no reason to let greed take over from common sense. Be patient and plan ahead.

Even if you have the spare RP, you'd be a downright fool to put it on the AH. You won't get HAMSTER for it. If you really must sell RP, at least be smart about it and do it during profitable events where it can double it's worth. I may not be even close to BiS right now, but I'll still improve a LOT when the next double refining weekend hits. I have my stock of RP high enough to make over 20mil during a refining weekend. That's going to buy me quite a bit of nice stuff. Or a single Tenser's Disk if I get tempted too much.

What would that be if I put it on the market now? 7? 8? Hell, go crazy and say 12mil if the price less than doubles. Eff that. Having patience is way more profitable still. I'm not cutting my own purse. Did that once, not doing so again. I'm keeping my supply. I have a certain amount of RP I want to gather before the next refining weekend and everything I get above that is my extra profit. And right now, that profit's only stacking higher every day.

I can get over 100k RP off Icewind Dale in less than a couple of hours. That's 200k AD off the AH. How much can you get in 2 hours running dungeons, skirmishes and leadership?

Well if you noticed IWD farming is steadilly reducing the price of RP. Which means you have to indulge in a certain ammount of speculation. If you think that the price of RP will fall more than 10% before the drop rate changes then you want to sell as you will net more RP by buying back later at a lower price. Other considerationsare that you may have something besides RP you want to invest in and so the short gain in AD may be more valuable than the long on holding the RP depending on your available funds.

Plus, you also have to add the basic principle of economics into the equation, i.e, supply and demand. Sources of AD are nerfed into oblivion. Sources of RP are increased in bulk by the day due to more people have caught up in leadership, more people are able to get into WoD and IceWind Dale for dragon hearlds and HEs, more people have maxed up their gear and become RP sellers instead of buyers, more daily and weekly RP rewarding quests are added, etc.

I don't think I need to point out it is a general trend less new players are coming into aging games. Supply of RP blows away demands. Price of RP doesn't have a leg to stand.
