eternal flame lockbox probabilities?

I'm just wondering if anyone knows of documentation explaining, or otherwise knows the probability of getting the good gear from lockboxes. I'm ashamed to say I spend $40 opening 32 boxes... I got 30 professions packs and some other junk, nothing worth more than 80k AD. Is that typical, do you need to open a hundred lockboxes to get a legendary mount?

    Drop rate for the top prize is very low. Will be like winning the lottery. If you really want the item from the drop box, better to just buy it from the AH.

    Try about 5000 for a legendary mount.

    Wow so bottom line there's no reason to buy enchanted keys, just convert the zen to AD.

    you buy keys to have fun. If you buy keys expecting the mount, you will be disappointed.

    Since every attempt at opening a lockbox is a separate event that in no way affects or is affected by however many lockboxes you have previously opened, the chance of pulling a legendary mount out of any one box does not change regardless of the number you open. You might find one on your first try, you might never find one. It's gambling, pure and simple, and the house always has the advantage in gambling. I'm not saying I've never gambled...but expect the worst, as Ben Franklin said, and any other result will be a pleasant surprise.

    I have several Legendary mounts, but I rarely open more than 10 of any lockbox at a time. One time recently I opened 1 lockbox looking for a BI kit (I needed 1 Green Gauntlet to upgrade to Blue) and got Oghma's Artifact instead. Just luck.

    I open lockboxes with no expectation of getting anything good; that way, I'm never disappointed. That being said, the only time I buy keys nowadays is if/when I get one of the 40% off coupons...

    I don't even do that -- $1.25 per key?!? Even Vegas has WAY cheaper slot machines for much better payoffs.​​
