The Knight of the Feywild pack Sylph can daze enemies and grants 50% control resist.

How does control resists work/ Does +50% mean that any control effects last for half as long or is it soemthing like 100/(100+CR) long. In any case is it significant and useful for a non-tank?
Also what is so good about the passives of the Bahamut's champion pack?

I'm guessing he means moon beams but it isn't a passive, you have to have the pet summoned to be able to take advantage of it , at legendary it can grant 20% increased crit chance to allies (0.5% per companion lvl) and reduce enemies crit chance by 40% (1% per companion lvl) for six seconds with a six second CD.
I've has most Zen Market companions (they sold a Fat-pack only once and it had every companion at the time) - Sylph from Feywild pack is the best, most useful companion of them all in my mind (including what others have described of newer companions).
As Bioshrike stated: they can stun mobs, but more importantly the 50% cc resist is very helpful. It means that whenever you are cc'd you break out of it twice as fast (and I do believe this applies in PvP also). it's not a 50% "chance" - it is 50% full stop. Meaning it's a permanent 50%. I don't always have the Sylph summoned but I have it slotted on every single one of my 15 characters for this active bonus alone.
I'm with the opinion that Dire Wolf is the second best for its active bonus, but that interrupt is only a 5% *chance*.

So if it lasts for 6 second with a 6 sec cool-down does that mean that it is effectively up all the time. Also as I am not rich, if I keep it at blue (rank 30) this means that I will get a 20' aura which gives 15% crit chance to allies and 30% miss chance for enemies?

For your first question I don't have it so I have no idea how often she casts moon beams when in combat but I'm sure others on the forum have one and know the answer, you got the numbers correct though +15% crit chance to allies and -30% crit chance for enemies ( not 30% miss chance) at rank 30 xD

Twice as fast would have been +100% resist. The sylph is only +50% not +100%.

It's a visible AoE "attack". Also, all party members and other allies near the Priestess profit, and all reds get debuffed. If you're lacking that bit of additional damge / protection in DPS race fights with weaker parties, she can tilt the balance in your favour. Next thing is that the effect duration goes up to 9 sec upon reaching Lvl 30. No upgrade necessary...
As opposed to other priest-companions she's a controller, not a healer - and has a different behaviour: Upon initiation of combat she closes in on your first attacked target and casts her Moonbeams, and stays close enough to trigger Combat Advantage most of the time. Works best with melee chars, as you have to be within that AoE, too, to get your crit chance buffed (visible in the char sheet, BTW). For ranged attackers, the defensive side still is somewhat useful, but I tend to use her less on those, though a Trapper HR can e.g. profit, too.
Also she's fairly robust due to her intermediate stealthing. The reds are dazed by that well enough, and if you're not prepared to handle the sudden jump of aggro you would get by staying, you get the time needed to get some distance.
[Edit] P.S.: On a different note: If you don't yet have it, you might consider getting the Dragonborn pack, too - the 30-slot account-wide bag is a 30-slot bag for each char, including mules. And the right-off-the-start Lvl 60 artifact also is nice to have when you level a new char...

Yes, my mistake. Either way: it's a guaranteed reduction in cc time as compared without it.
