Are my eyes deceiving me or is there something wrong with Crafting system?

Check out how much it costs in order to craft this level 18 Leather-working item, Emporer's Leather Pants:

25,000 AD + 1 Dragon Egg?!

For that price the stats must be respectable? Er, +3 Defence...

It's so sad it's funny.

It's a fashion piece. It's essentially invisible, for those that don't like how their pants or shirt look underneath their armor.

EDIT: Here's an old screenshot of my character with the shirt and pants transmuted to the "Emperor's" items.

See? No pants, no shirt visible underneath the armor.

Sometimes looking up what an item actually does is hard. It's easier to come on the forums and complain that Cryptic is dumb.

Before you laugh at the cost, check out how much you can earn selling that in AH.
It was a hot item (may be it still is; I have not checked).

It's a laugh in itself that it is a "Free Appearance Change" considering how much it costs to craft :( Doesn't seem so free to me!

Too be fair it's pretty expensive for a pretty standard feature when you can already show/hide existing items. I mean people thought transmutation costs were high without this costing many times more to have no visuals... Still at least we got them, it's not like you have to use them.

Transmuting a high-level item is more expensive than 25k ADs, so there's that. Also, you can't show/hide clothing, just helms and cloaks.

A typical item transmute can cost double that at high levels, IIRC.

So they made it so the emperor's clothes are actually invisible again? Because when they launched them they made them into "underwear" http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?777081-Emperor-s-clothes-woes
I wasted five million AD promoting the Foundry.

You're forgetting the dragon egg which is over two times more than the AD cost. And I know you can't show/hide clothing. The point was that they had the functionality already in. $3 worth (for the pair) is a lot for no model which you have to pay again with the upgraded shirts/pants.

The brown rag bra is shown in the very screenshot. I assume the same goes for the underwear. It's kind of disappointing how little they've done for cosmetics.

Looks like you really jumped the gun on this one. 1.5 more seconds of reading would have confirmed that it was a fashion item and that the appearance change was free.

Thank you for being slovenly and starting a thread and giving a bunch of us something to laugh at.
