Since we have the paladin class now, which can either heal or tank, it would be great if we have an additional icon next to us when we join a group stating if we are either heal or tank.
It would be much easier at a glance to allow people to know our specific role. If I random queue for something, I normally state my role, but not everyone understands English.
If they ever tweak the feats a bit, SW could heal, and GWF could tank.

Whilst it would be nice, this does already exist to some degree. If an OP has a big yellow ring around them, they are heal. If they are heal and don't have it, you can safely assume they do not know their class and that you would probably be better off without them.

Ummm, no.
The yellow ring can be turned on and off. It's toggle. And if a Devotion P doesn't have it slotted it means nothing about their skill level and therefore they should never be judged by the presence or lack of it. WTF ever happened to actually playing with someone before casting judgement on their abilities? Elitist BS is becoming so rampant in these forums it's beginning to smell worse day after day. Just saying.

This is why I use my ignore feature. The elitist tendencies have always been here, but it has become very vocal as of late.
In an ideal world, where everyone is here to have fun along side everyone else, I don't disagree with the concept of an icon color or style change to indicate spec. The problem this would cause in our current... community environment... is that this would just be used for more segregation, discrimination, and elitism.
Whole Idea is actually pretty good. Especially for OP.
Just like shield or sigil sigh near OP in your party.
But this can as well extend for all classes.
First to show what paragon path player has. We generally can see path if you inspect player. So this would be just an addition for your party. Same restriction apply as for inspect - you probably should not see paragon path of enemy player in pvp)
I don't think that game should allow showing feet path thought like DPS DC vs Faithful DC. Cause well it is part of persons build and people often have more feet from different paths as well

Well, lets see, I have an OP and it happens to be devotion and it also happens that the most powerful devotion ability for team based content is bond of virtue, unquestionably. If a paladin is not using it in group content like dungeons, it means he probably does not know his own class very well and fairly quickly after joining a group if the ring isn't up, you can assume fairly easily he is either a bad player, or a good player who doesn't know the class.

I know what you're saying. However: being a good player and knowing the class are not mutually exclusive.
Bond of Virtue is an automatic transmission: fire-and-forget "easy button". Not all Devotion P's want to play that way. There are times I slot BoV on my Devotion and times I do not because I want to do something different; more manual and granular. Yet there is no real difference in my capabilities.
Some would say Bond of Virtue is too restrictive (albeit it is a massive circle, but if you aren't in it you aren't IN it.). Sometimes a player doesn't want to put the gear-shifter into "drive" and rely on just pressing the accelerator. Some drivers enjoy kicking the clutch and double-sifting for higher torque and more power; more manual control. BoV is a good, nay: great encounter, there is no doubt. However that doesn't mean it's the best for all situations.
The truly amazing thing about Paladin class (in either Paragon tree) is that it is freakishly powerful, useful, and flexible in multiple play styles unlike most, if not all other classes which have become pigeon-holed into particular Paragons and Encounters.
But because you see someone not driving a Paladin on automatic you immediately discount the power-shifting double-clutch-kicker as "not knowing his class". Give the Paladin class a little due while you can; expect a lot of nerfing to ensue over the next few months (they're already starting with our one singular DPS Daily tomorrow).
It's your loss. Good thing you'll never have to know it when it occurs.
I always just inspect paladins to see what oath they have, it's just two clicks really.
As for DC; if they have a green little buff icon they are virtuous, if they put little blue icons on you while healing they are faithful, if they do neither they are righteous. It's easy really, just try to know a little bit about other classes too and you won't have a problem identifying their playstyle.

DC can actually DPS fairly well.
