ok have no problem that new areas are tough but don't take all the gear I have worked hard to get for a year and say it is useless and oh well start over. that is bs as I get 3 to 4 hrs to play a week and it took me a year to get all purple and two artifact items now you say it is useless. the least you should do is give us new equipment and AD for my purple stuff now instead of HAMSTER us.
the way you went about it now you are forcing players away and you may want that just tell us!! nice job devel team
It's not going to happen. The Devs have already eluded to the idea that "Set Bonus" were a mistake with regard to being able to further their game plans overall (read: creates over-power and power-creep). This is why all those old Epic armor sets are 100% removed from the game and all new armor do not (currently) have "set bonus" stats. And I like this aspect; there is not "Best in Slot" armor gear where people would kick you from parties just because you aren;t wearing the armor set they think your should be.
Kudos to Devs for making this move.
And by the way: I have 14 toons all in really expensive Epic Gear with set bonuses. I'm hurting, too. But willing to go though this painful change because in the long run it's just plain better.
As for forcing players away: Only elitist snobs; good riddance. New up-and-coming players won't even know there is a difference, much less fell it. This is a good move. So if you still have your epic sets then go salvage them for AD or do like I'll do: save them for transmutation later.
I am fine with them taking the set bonus out but I do believe they should have gone back and added Hit Points in its place.. The best set you can get today is the Burning Set in PvP . This is a D&D game so why are they pushing everyone to have to do PvP . This new Mod is all about the amount of health you have and little more than that. Just like my Black Ice Armor I took a lot of time getting I still have to feed it black ice to keep it at level 3 and they don't even give me any hit points to reward all my trouble really???
I really wish we could have turned our T3s into leveling gear, kinda like the mod4 blues that would improve with your level, but be outmatched by epic gear. Or being able to easily turn/exchange them into lvl70 T1. I'm still keeping my Profound and Black Ice gear on ice (no pun intended) out of nostalgia, but I'd have liked to wear it a bit more at lvl 70 before switching to T2.

Savage mod 5 purple to get AD to buy level 70 blue from AH and keep the reminding AD in the wallet.
The main hand and off land are free after you reach level 70 and finish the new mod 6 area.

yep, that's excactly what I did. Gives you a little starting money. That already is an advantage you have over new level 60s. The point of the gear reset was supposed to be that everyone starts the same again. And that was a very good idea. Too bad it didn't work out that way.

No-one is pushing you to do pvp. And FYI Burning pvp gear is by far not the best gear out there. It has a touch more defensive stats than T1, about 5k more HP (how much will that help?) but way less offensive stats compared with T1 gear. I actually got the Burning Executioner set wit the aim of helping me in T2 but I went back to T1 gear as my damage was suffering in the pvp gear. So let's all dispel this myth that pvp gear is better for pve than pve gear.
