So i have played on again off again for a while now....Never really gotten any toon past lvl 25...Well, untell OP came along. Now i am lvl 67 and squeaking by on my current spec, not a good one but gets me buy for now... Im thinking of rolling a new toon to help with the AD farm and just to continue having fun....Level 1-65 was a breeze as a OP. The other classes that i have always played were Mage and (Druid). I know that druid dont exist (YET)... For a new person that is broke and all can Control Wiz survive the new sections in game.I only solo play at this time or is a CW more group dependent?
CWs are excellent soloists. They start off a bit slow at early levels, but can become real powerhouses late in the game. Honestly one of the few classes that can be considered amazing at both solo and group play.

Thanks for the quick reply....I just know that what i have seen so for in Mod 6 it can be nuts even for a OP....Control i guess is key along with figuring out what the best pet i mean companion to have....Which i guess would be either any heals or defender type?
For myself, I prefer healer pets over tank pets. I like to have agro so I can gather the mobs to me. This makes it easier to utilize a wizards strong point blank AoE spells. A tank pet, with questionable AI just makes it harder to predict where the mobs will go.

Ok, i guess i can see that happening....I guess i will be making a stop at glass cannon forums to investigate CW more. Thanks again...
The defenders from the gold store are IMHO not really useful, as they'll typically get only one of the red's to care for them...
...later on you'll have so much Crowd Control powers at your disposition that a defender really doesn't make much sense. Whereas the healer at least saves you a lot of potions by bringing you back up to topped up between fights. And the striker at least moves to the reds and keeps a one or more of them away from you... ...as opposed to the defender who first stays behind you and then, after the reds start to gnaw/stab/slice/bash you, tries to get their attention.
When I started the game a year and a half ago I had good experiences with my very first CW (second char ever) and his the Frost Mimic (may mage is Rincewind-themed, so...). Though Luggage tends to be a bit overly cuddly and can get you unwelcome attention due to that. And I also had picked the free cleric on the Knox quest, and hence could change them over when I needed healing.
Also, with the current combat AI the reds are really keen on getting your healer knocked out. At least in the later stages of the game.
