These mobs can be CC'd send some TR to drop smoke bombs or some CW to freeze them.
Wtf is the point of a tank if a TR/CW has to protect the tank!?

My experience with mod 6 is as thus. I have a well equipped GF (item level over 3k), build for support and endurance. After running a couple of epic dungeons i can agree with the OP on most points. Tanking has become a very different beast from pre mod 6.
Yes, mobs can now easily oneshot you when your guard is down. Problem is, to even taunt mobs you need to drop your shield to use enforced thread. If there are shooting mobs present, you might already die at this point. Therer are a couple of possible tactics to stack the odds a bit to your favor.
First step, keep Kinghts Valor active and cast Into the Fray shortly before entering the fight. That way your party gets a good damage buff, but more importantly to you, you will get a speed buff.
Step two, let the CW or HR in your group first aggro the mob. That way you have the time you need to cast enforced thread without instantly dieing.
Step three, avoid as many attacks as you can by constantly moving around. The speed of ItF will really help you at this point. Now your group has time to control and destroy the mob. Keep enforced threat handy for the case you should lose the aggro.
