So I have tried twice now this dungeon and failed both times at the final boss. Any thoughts on what a CW's proper role ought to be here? I understand that at the final boss fight, killing adds is most important now, especially the spiders. But the spiders take me down in maybe 2 hits even with Shield. Any tips?

You can briefly stun them. And you can dodge a bit too.

Go all single target, use Chill Strike or Entangling Force to CC them to stop their first shot, then burn them before they get a chance to shoot twice. Don't let the orange ones get near you, or they'll probably one-shot you.

    2 methods:

    A. 2 cws for control adds individually entangling force, extra cc etc and a gwf/sw to burst boss.

    B. All cw does oppforce all the time.

actually feel free to try all the controls what suit on you what do the job better for you.entagling is very good option as zerg said.DISintegrate should be on your encounter slot also because the low cooldown and do very good damage.entagling -disintegrate-icy terrain as you wish even ice knife if is emergency.spiderlings spawn to the corners keep an eye behind you if you stand to a corner.
and something else tell to your damage dealers to help with adds because some runs i did lately they keep hit boss and they let cw to his own mercy fighting with adds.
