Some people were curious about how solo lairs worked now, even with low dps. Here is a faithful cleric video, you can't do less damage than that unless you're in questing greens. I picked a defensive spell for convenience, not that it's required, but i can just facetank npcs and keep doing my stuff. Health never dropped under 90%.
If some of you want to know the ultimate secret to daily lair soloing: kill npcs with the least health first. Yep, that's it. You're removing some damage fast and bigger npcs mostly have obvious animations or red zones.

very productive post thanks a ton.
No, I'd like a dual spec, but that's a two year old request and probably a lost cause at this point.
//justsaying.
And I concur: always eliminate the eliminatable the moment you can eliminate them; i.e. do not leave loose-end health bars lingering about.
My own gripe isn't the challenge these contacts are now (I think it's great) - but some are just over the top (Ghost Stories is one of them) - my rant is with how farking slow everything is now.
They don't need to slow everything down so much - they need to speed things up. I've run that solo dungeon in Dread Ring the video is showing in the OP countless times - granted: before Mod 6 it was a laughable joke in terms of how over-powered players were. Now it's much better and more of the exciting challenge it needs to be, but it is also exponentially slower. Don't get me wrong - that instance is just about right (15 minutes average).
But the ridiculous instances like Ghost Stories (I keep using Ghost Stories because it's the perfect example but there are LOTS of them all around) - make it so I simply *cannot* do that quest without being killed at least three times before I even get into the staircase downward. And to play as the OP shows in the video: this instance will take 30 to 45 minutes to complete. And it's only supposed to be a little add-on skirmish, not a full-blown solo delve like Clockworker's Tomb and such.
So: die and regenerate three times, the run,dodge,kite,hop-skip-jump all over the arena for 45 minutes for... what? I'm of the firm stern belief all solo content should be doable in 15-20 minutes or less. Stuff that used to take me 10 minutes now take 20-25. Unacceptable I think.
No, if I can't survive through the first five encounters (and not even come close to the elites and boss yet) - then it's not worth doing.
Patch notes from this last patch says they fixed that. I tried it on Friday - it's allfarkedup. So I can only say I hope you're right. because otherwise I'll never even try that one again. And if too many other instances turnout like that my neverwinter days are more os less gonna just be nothing more than great memories. Heh.
Also it is not a question whether it is "doable". Thing is that it's either frustrating cause you die a lot to damage spikes (with a low dr striker class like warlock or archer hunter) or it is boring and tedious because enemies have so much health (paladin, guardian, cleric). gwf and wizard are the only two classes solo is still comfortable with, because of the unstoppable mechanic and the shield.
All for what? The loot even got worse since mod 6, xp is a quarter of what it was!
And at fault are clearly the totally overleveled minion mobs. Servitors dealing huge damage spikes while having as much health as a player. In sharandar it's the redcaps, for the dragon cult it's the black dragonwings. This content and the encounters in it were designed with a totally different power level in mind for the enemies, now with the power level changed but the encounters still the exact same balance is askew.
diogene - log on to your hunter ranger with archery spec and post another video, please:D
I didn't use any of the things that may make clerics very hard to kill in pvp. While I'm not too keen about spilling the beans, I can tell you that i didn't use something like that. You can look at my feats at the end of the video.
Um yes, this. Videos of every class but clerics have been posted on the forums by several people, I'm just adding my own touch with a cleric video. 15 mins for a solo lair as a healer. It's not as awful and full of pain and sweat like a handful of people say it is.
