Mod 6, zerg time & Tiamat

Hello Dragon server community.

Lets set aside all of the mod 6 negativity for a moment and have a serious discussion about Tiamat.

It's been ~ a month since Mod 6's release. I think it's high time we start making serious attempts at Tiamat as a community. I know there are plenty of players out there, like me, who prepared for mod 6 in advance, and are now in a position to do the end-game content this mod has to offer. We need to coordinate.

Unfortunately, with the way the instances work, it makes it extremely difficult to put together a well geared team for Tiamat. It's even worse now than it was prior to mod 6 since level 60 players can participate in the encounter and get "scaled up" to laughable 70 "equivalent". Unfortunately this brings down the chances of random pug instances killing Tiamat dramatically. This is FAR worse than the minimum 10k gear score in mod 5.

It's with this in mind that I suggest we put together another "zerg time" channel. This would allow us to coordinate highly geared individuals, and hopefully be able to get into the same instance so that we have some chance of defeating Tiamat.

Please discuss here.

Since total item level is an even worse judge than gear score before, I suggest we set a minimum channel invite requirement to individual items. ie. legendary 70 artifact main hand, or minimum 2 artifacts at legendary quality, etc.

Highly geared individuals can also contact me in game @derekdrygon, or PM me on the forums. Lets start getting some serious attempts on Tiamat together!

I just joined the channel, which appears to be open to all and only had 16 people online despite 400+ being members of the channel. Is this channel active enough to serve the purposes I mentioned in my previous post, and more importantly there's the question of security. What is to prevent under geared individuals from leeching through the coordination done in this channel?

Shame you're setting gear requirements. Otherwise /legit would be sufficient for your wishes.

Gear with tons of stats/HP is a must , don't start talking about skills , when you don't have the right gear you are in a big disavantage .

If 16 out of 400 were online, that wasn't NW_Legit_Community. Currently, there are 525/6k+ online.

Yes and out of that 6K+ players on legit, if 2k is still active within the game that would be a lot, that stats is only lying to what the real stats of the channel really is. A huge margin of players have already left the game, and by saying that 6k players still use the channel is just pure lying.

Obviously I did not have the right channel, I joined one called "Legit"

NW_Legit_Community is by invite only. How does one get an invite?

    Thanks!

That's a sad topic... I gather Tiamat isn't doable anymore? Returning player here... No hope for a level 60+ (not 70) to make it? I noticed you get scaled up and my stat went insane but I don't understand the issue yet - mobs hit too hard or the heads are impossible to kill?

The problem is the scaling is woefully inadequate when compared to the stats you would normally get from level 70 equipment. I won't say that she's not doable, as I wouldn't be posting this thread otherwise. However, as I said earlier, the problem with low gear score requirement from mod 5 is magnified now that mod 6 allows level 60 players to enter the encounter. Thus, it'll be quite some time before the "average player" gets a Tiamat kill under their belt in mod 6.

I'm too lazy to find and copy the thread, but armpen seems to be the key stat (after HP ofc) in an effort to do ANY damage at all to the dragon queen.
(no point in proposing having 2 legendary artifacts as a prerequisite if they happen to be waters and catalogue)

I didn't say there were 6K active. I cited that stat because that's how I knew he wasn't in the correct channel. But if ever 500 are on right now, we probably have 2K active.

But Mage is right: if you want to exclude people, it's really not the right place. In fact, not many, if any, of them are doing Tia right now.

Legit channel is not worth the effort. 99% casuals + 1% cretinoid power-hungry admins. Glad I was banned from there, opened my eyes to this game's "community".

    Um, no

You must've done something really out of line to get booted out of there.
Cretins you will and can come across everywhere, there's no way to avoid them.

I joined 2 weeks ago and finally started getting good parties to at least do some T1 and a bunch of helpful people, tips, tactics builds and practically anything you ask for concerning the game PLUS...they do things LEGIT, no exploits, which I like heaps.

    I'd say it's worth 100%

Listen here, Bubba, I joined that channel more than a year ago when it was actually good and didn't have rules or moderators or any of that nonsense. Neither do I need cretins like you to tell me that I have done 'something out of line' when you weren't there and don't know what happened.

    Keep running T1s.

Well this discussion is really going south fast. While the idea of a Tia channel is not new, it was the best way to get a reasonable chance of success as the fight requires skill and gear like no other. The silly door requirements make getting a group with a shred of a chance in one instance totally impossible without some sort of coordination. As I have never heard of a group besting (or even coming close) the new and definitely not improved Tia fight, I going to guess it will be a while yet before enough folks with adequate gear and skill can come together and have any chance at all.

With luck cryptic will look into the armpen nightmare they have created where even the best defense is like wearing tissue paper when fighting higher level critters. Be sure to get back to us should you have any success with the fight as sharing strategies will likely be the key to success.

Just to try and re-rail this discussion, forget about the Legit channel. Talking about Tiamat timers is one of the banned topics, so no point joining the channel just to get banned. Try another solution.

The fact, that you call people "cretin", become aggressive and offensive and tend to use insults instead of arguments here, is a very sure indicator, that it was your behaviour, which led to the ban. And that makes one believe, that it also was the reason for "what really happened" (meaning it probably was partly your fault).

    But back to topic:

Is there anyone, who has tried Tiamat severeal times on Mod 6 and can tell how it went? Perhaps some detailed experience of what was good and what went bad (not just "we did not make it")? I'm sure that would help with working out a good strategy.

Thats pretty impressive, congratz. I havent been in Tiamat since April 23rd, dunno if it was nerfed or not but still.

Was the 60% arm pen enough to make heads die, or you needed a couple of fabled SWs/feytouched? If so - how many fabled SW and ppl with Feytouched were in party, if you dont mind to share this information?
