Has leaver penalty been removed?

Since the new mod I keep being in matches where people have left. It tends to ruin the match. No matter how good you are you rarely win when outnumbered. Surely there must be a way to fend against this? Even if people leave, can't the system allow others to q in? Yes, they have a shorter match, but it means the match is interesting again.

    People arent "deserting" theyre being disconnected and then booted from matches for being AFK even if they only discon for a few seconds. Personally I have had this happen to me several times in GG and im able to re-que right after UNLESS you log back in and actually click the "Leave instance" button that shows up(wayyyyy before the 5m afk timer hits)

    If people werent getting kicked out of matches simply because the server disconnects them then this problem would be very minor and yes deserter status would be applied correctly
