Parry - Using the SHIFT mechanic whilst standing stationary, you gain 100% Deflection Chance and +20% deflection severity. Holding SHIFT while stationary puts ups your weapon in a Guarded stance, and expends stamina. Each consequent hit after, drains more stamina.
This mechanic is there to assist with the unavoidable damages and offtank/defence roles, but cannot escape its controlling effect unless in unstoppable.
Momentum - Using the SHIFT Sprinting Mechanic, will retains its running speed for 1-2 seconds. This assists with platforming.
Anyone with some mathmagic should be able to find a decent stats required how to make this work properly, but I offer this idea to the community.
Momentum is a great idea. As for Parry, I think the problem with Sentinel is conceptual as much as it is mechanical. Sure, Sentinels are the worst tank by far, but OP and GF already exist to fill the tank niche and a group only needs one tank. There's no benefit to the game as a whole from having a third tank class fighting over one of the spots. Sentinel should just be removed and re-introduced when there's an actual niche other classes don't fill or need to fill, and far better.
The role GWF had besides damage dealing was offtank. It was never supposed to take the main tank's role, but to supplement it. It is in that, that the GWF is failing in lategame due to the ridiculous damage numbers mobs can do.
The problem is when sprinting is an insufficient mechanic, especially with unavoidable damage. Warlocks in that situation have the benefit from attacking from range, Great Weapon Fighter do not.
I doubt just stat buffing Great Weapon Fighter will be a solution without making them overly powerful. I do believe the flaw lies in having just a sprint as a source of mitigation/evasion.
