Guilds and communication

I just started playing this game on Xbox, and I am loving it.

I was wondering how communicating with guild members works?

Is it confined to text chat?
If so, should I connect a keyboard to my Xbox?
What keyboards are recommended for Xbox One?

These games are infinitely better when played with guild members and friends, but I have yet to look into any guilds since I am such a newbie. I just want to make sure I am prepared when I join one. :)

    In the game is confined to text chat but in the guild I am in we get in a party and coordinate by voice chat as to who wants to do what
