I Now Have Trust Issues

In the Neverwinter World, I'm kinda rich.
I have 3 PC's, all of which I would like to consider a Main. (Disclaimer: There are certainly richer folks out there.) Anyhow, we currently wield around 5 million AD between us. And we have a few thousand zen, plus multitudes of every other currency that has ever been released in the game. My point here is not that I'm a rich citizen of Neverwinter, it's that I'm afraid to invest my wealth.

Do I buy artifact equipment? I don't know - is Greater artifact gear here to stay or will it be eclipsed tomorrow?

Do I buy companion upgrades? I don't know - will they be made obsolete again as soon as I buy them?

Do I buy refinement stuff? I don't know - the last time I did, I discovered that there was new artifact weapons at the end of level 70 and I wasted my money.

Do I buy changes to my appearance? No way! I just altered the appearance of my main weapon only to discover that it was a waste of time. Hell, it took me 2 years of the Neverwinter equivalent of the 4th of July to amass enough dye packs to color my toon the way I want it!

Enough, the point is made. I'm holding on to almost every in-game currency that I have because the game seems broken and I fear a 'fix' that will ruin whatever upgrades that I decide to spend my $$ on.

Am I alone here or is the only safe-feeling thing left working on professions?

You think that's bad, try spending 40-50 bucks on greater bags of holding, and having them take away your means to pass them on to newer characters, The reason you bought them in the first place.

Its almost insanity that a game wants your money to refine items etc..only to make game changes equal to what a massive earthquake would do to a straw hut and expect ppl to continue to buy things. To fracture a player's feel for the game they dedicated hours to, leave alone the usability and value of items they paid money for and expect business to continue as usual...well there isnt even a term for this. Lazyness for simply making old mobs into more powerful mobs rather than creating new areas with higher level ones...
A deep lack of comprehension of how players connect to the in game dynamics and atmosphere which drives the desire to return...familiarity...accomplishment, both of which are fractured with mod 6 changes. Just goofie

there is a solution to that, buy what you want when you want, if you can afford it and dont think about future, stress is harmful

made some 6 mil on RP at the start of mod5, spent some 7mil mid mod5 on stuff thats worth probably 1/2 of that now, lost ~ half the value of a perfect vorpal, so what its a game, dont worry, be happy, its not like you are going to leave that stuff to your grandchildren

tho that might explain why im constantly broke :D it doesnt matter how much i have or how much i make :D

    Agreed.

Connect to the game like you would a massive casino..with zero long term focus...walk in..walk out, and align with other things in life with a developmental focus and treat game items as you would candy floss at a fair and with the same overall value
