is the Astral Diamond Exchange even used?

Ok I just came back to game a few days ago after leaving because of the caturday incident, and I have a few astral diamonds and decided to buy some zen, but it is not showing anyone selling zen. Second tab shows top 10 purchase requests, but with how much they are buying at a time its obviously diamond sellers. I put my diamonds up to buy at 500 each, but for 2 days its still there no one selling. On top of that ever since I put diamonds up I get constant diamond seller spam, like they are able to see my name that I am looking to buy zen. If I wanted to spend more real money I would buy straight from the store, not some shady salesman that annoys people trying to play a game. So my question is, are people even selling zen anymore, or could it be a bug I can not see people that are selling zen? Thanks for any help.

Yes, people still use the Zen exchange. You seem to be unclear on how it works. Those aren't the 'top' offers on the zen exchange on the 'sell zen' tab, they are CUMULATIVE offers of the top five PRICES to buy zen at. There is 5 million zen waiting to be bought, by all people, not one person trying to buy 5 million zen at once.

When there's this much zen in the backlog, it takes a few days to get your zen. Put an offer at 500, and be patient. A general rule of thumb is 'about one day per one million zen of backlog'. There's about 5.3 million zen in the backlog, so it's going to take about 5 and a half days.

And the spam is a typical thing now. No one can see your name on the exchange. It just happens. Turn off Zone and Trade while in Protector's Enclave, set your visibility to 'friends only' unless you're looking for a group, that's the best you can do.

Thanks for the info appreciate it. Things have changed since back when game first started. Use to be able to click on a offer and buy it on the spot.

You can still buy it on the spot when its available, but right now the demand for zen is greater than the demand for astral diamonds, so naturally there are more people trying to buy zen than there are selling, so it will take a few days but you will get some. I still occassionally sell zen rather than use it and it sells instantly at 500AD per 1Zen, but last time i tried to buy Zen with AD it took about 4 days for me to buy 1k.

the problem is that 1 zen is worth more than 500 ad, which is the limit.
very few people are willing to trade 1 zen for 500 ad, that's why there is a huge backlog.

basically about 9 months ago(?) there was a huge exploit and people duped billions (hundreds of billions, trillions maybe?? who knows) AD into the game which made it basically worthless. or at least not worth trading Zen for.

Even before the exploit.. it wasnt worth doing that.. its never worth doing it. Buy what you want, or buy a few items that players need and post them for better profit return.

If they turned off that function, I wouldn't even buy zen . apart from what I would use myself.

Many times, alot of us have posted over and over, to float the price of zen. It would most likely stabilize for double its value, after the initial sell off that is.

Then some of us would pump in some dollars for a better return. Limiting the amount of your return is ridiculous, it only benefits one side, the people who want to play for free, anyone willing to spend a odd few dollars, seem to be penalized for selling zen.

First, 1 zen IS worth 500AD. If for no other reason than that is it s the exchange limit.
As for the people unwilling to settle for that price and try to overprice zen items in the AH... well you just lost 1 more item to sell, and I hope more will follow. And as soon as people learn not to buy these overpriced items and just exchange AD on the ZAx... well good luck.

    Mags..

your just wrong here, its a artificially induced limit, its not the true value, removal of items to sell, will just make me cease buying anything at all for resell, it limits the scope of what customers are allowed to purchase. If they made everything bind, it would just wouldn't matter really. I would just stop offering anything.. ever.

I have never bought zen from the exchange and I have never sold zen. If it wasnt for the fact that I use it to exchange my own ad, they could shut it off tomorrow.

IT has no value whatsoever to me outside of that.

The only time it wouldve had value, is when I first started playing and zen was cheap, I shouldve bought zen for a instant increase of value. But I was to new to the game to understand that.

well that's the cap yes but obviously the market think it isn't worth 500, which is why people buy non-bound zen items (if there's any left) and sell them for AD on the ah.

right, back in the day I exchanged AD for zen to buy Ioun stone. but that was when the xrate was like 235/1. today of course, it would be cheaper just to buy the pet directly from the AH.

I buy Zen through exchange all the time. I don't buy Zen when I need Zen. I buy Zen way before I need it. Hence, whenever Zen market has sales, I can buy. For example, P-Ward is effectively 5000 AD per if you buy it from Zen market directly. Now, since it is on sale, it is effectively 4000 AD per. In AH, it is over 6000 AD.

So, when I need P-Ward, where should I buy it from?

I used to buy bigger bag from AH because it was cheaper than Zen market. It was 300K AD vs effectively 500K AD from Zen market.
Then, for whatever reason, AH price is a lot higher than Zen market, over 600K AD.
Now, because of the bound issue and the new 32 slot bag, the AH price of bigger bag is dropped below Zen market price.

I buy from where that can have a better price.
