I played back when Neverwinter first started and solod a GWF up to 46. I remember mobs dying relatively easily never needing more than 1-2 Encounter powers and a few at will swings before everything was dead.
I started playing again about 2 weeks and I've noticed that I have a lot more trouble than I remember killing regular trash mobs. I'm having to go through 2 full rotations of Encounter powers and tons of at wills. Looking at the GWF/GF class forum I've noticed a number of threads about how GWF has been "nerfed" a lot in mod 5 and 6 so I understand why the mobs seem more difficult. My question isn't about that though.
I came back to play with a friend of mine and we started new characters and have been duoing. We're up to lvl 25 now (me a GF and him a Warlock). So far 99% of the mobs we've run across get virtually insta killed by one of us. Either I charge in and use Enforced Threat which kills most things or he uses one of his AE spells which kill everything. It's made duoing not much of a challenge. Even the quest bosses seem to die in like 5-6 seconds.
Then I switch over to my lvl 8 CW and have a hell of a time killing a pack of trash mobs. Like two full encounter rotations. I can only assume that its because I'm so low lvl and don't have any of the potent abilities yet since I keep reading how powerful CWs are.
The question I have is at what point will the mobs NOT get insta gibbed by either my 25 GF or my friends 25 warlock? I have 3 very different data points; lvl 8 CW, lvl 25 GF and 46 GWF, but those are with different classes so I'm not sure if the difficulty will be the same for my 25 GF once he reaches 46 or if its only harder because the GWF was nerfed. I'm hoping it becomes at least as difficult as it is for my CW and GWF.
Now I realize there are Foundry quests and skirmishes that offer more challenging content and those have been great so far but we also want to do the main storyline. Thanks for your responses in advance.
Mobs will become more and more difficult as you level-up. it's designed that way to keep you interested in playing. When you hit the 50's or then you'll definitely see that there's a change. And when you get into the 70's (okay: just "70" - for now) then you'll be doing more running for your lives than smackdown moves.
