Stem The Tide question

So, I know that our companions are affected as "allies" for our auras and such, so I am wondering if having a companion summoned means we do NOT get the bonuses for this Feat because they count as an ally.

Since the feat says "While no allies are within 30' of you ... "

Just wondering if this means you have to run without a companion to get the bonuses.

I looked through the forum and didn't see this, so sorry if it should be under a different thread.

Companions prevent the Stem the Tide bonus.

Don't put points in Stem the Tide. When Stem the Tide is active, it puts you in combat with every enemy in range. Very annoying.

A companion does count as an ally for Stem the Tide and you do no get the bonus if they are within 30'. Having said that, 30' isn't a long distance and depending on the companion you can get that amount of separation from them. I'm using it with a Battlefield Medic and I see Stem the Tide active on occasion.

Still I mostly chose it because I didn't want any of the other feats and needed to put 5 points somewhere to advance.
