This is such annoying bug or not....but I want to abandon the quest/mission Ring of Fire so I can do another vigilance task but this stupid task Ring of Fire abandon button is greyed out. It's really annoying that it takes up a slot when I don't want to complete the task and do another one.
Dev's fix these bugs...they are starting to be annoying thing in the game. BTW what the hell's with Spinalward Rise is lagged that it seems the dev's didn't even optimize the areas a lags fairly a lot.
Oh good, I'm not the only one that has this clogging up their Quest list. It wasn't taking up one of my four Vigilance tasks though, I was having 5 (including Ring of Fire) on my lists of quests.
I can't abandon it either. I tried to solo it for kicks and got crushed by the end boss. Now I'm stuck with it and it does take up a vigil quest slot for me. Will try to actually complete it instead and see if goes away. Except I've moved on to Spinward because I couldn't take anymore and wanted my main ASAP.

I still have it in my quest list too. The only way I found to beat Vanifer is to pull her back into the room before where she is so you do not have to deal with her and the adds both. Plus she will sometimes get stuck in the walls when she slides, which helps too. Now this was with a cleric, so may be different for other classes.

Instead of soloing this take a buddy with you.
If you do solo it as a TR I can say Wicked Reminder was working well on her overall. Smoke Bomb is a fail here. (Yes, I tested the dreaded thing just to see.) Courage Breaker was okay, Bloodbath, and Lurker's Assault too. Use what suits your playstyle in those.
Dodge the fire blasts. She makes distinctive hand waves before both major attacks. Pause to get rid of adds, and then go back to whacking her head off. Using a PvP banner to boost your abilities briefly helps as well. You can stand in the banner circular field, and throw stuff at her which works for ANY class with their ranged ability. If you're fortunate enough to have Tymora's Lucky coin, or Pocket Pet use that just before engaging Vanifer. (You can use both at the same time actually!)
I defeated her at lvl 69, and now at lvl 70. It takes a few tries, but it's possible.
