Guys has anyone tested New caps for pvp? Mainly for Armor Penetration and crit?
Ive got 4k Armor Pen in full pvp gear and thats -38% (I play dps DC) + 10% feats = 48% you reckon thats an overcap?
My crit is 30.6% - and it feels sometimes that i really need MUCH MORE!
Whats the sweet spot for ArmP and Crit speaking of dps DC's???
With the new "armor pen resistance stat", which corresponds at tenacity % x2, the cap in pvp is incredibly higher.
Without pvp stuff, tenacity base is 20% so 40% of ArP. Resistance.
But with a full pvp set ( 4 pieces lvl 70 from glory or black ice craft + pvp rings ), we can reach 42-43% tenacity, so 84-86% ArP. Resistance.
Good luck for reach 84% Resistance ignored. Even reaching this cap of 84%, you should consider effects of 42% tenacity, wich correspond at this calculation, for crit damage :
Crit damage * ((1-0.42)^2) = crit damage * 0.34. For example, my lashing blade hit for 72k ( dummies ), but against a full pvp stuffed ennemy, it hit for 24k, een if i've got 84% arp. Awesome against a guy with 110k+ hp pool.
Lol you are one of those who already have pure/transcendent/r12 etc. eh? Ive taken a front row seat for the 'lets see how long till they nerf them' show. And Terror, being as it is now is the obvious top contender for "adjustments"

well. im runing with Terror R12 - that cuts armop by 40 + 48 = 88 % reached, or im i mistaken?
U are mistaken..Terror reduce the player defence by 40%..not resistance ignored by 40%..which means if the player got 10k defence, u reduce his defence to 6k and the 4k difference is equal to 10% resistance ignored being cut out by terror...but if the player got 2k defence, u reduce it to 1.2k defence which is about 800 defence gone ( -2% resistance ignored)..so terror basically effective againts tank but not on low defence class. Frankly, i still think terror is a stupid enchant..wonder why ppl buy it.
Terror enchant reduce the player defense, yes, so indirectly his Damage Resistance.
In PvP, a player have 3 "Resistance Stats" :
1) Damage Resistance : a % depending of your Defense ( 400 pts for 1% ) and your armor class ( 0.5% for 1 CA over 10 CA ).
BUT Damage Resistance is generally useless in pvp if your ennemy have more Resistance Ignored, cause of damage calculation, and your minimal DR% is equal to your Armor Pen Resistance %.
Example : you have 4K defense and 16 CA = 13% DR. If your ennemy have more than 13% RI ( from Arp, boons and Ability Score ), your DR become 0%.
An interest of reducing a stat that isn't take in consideration in the damage calculation ?

"New" stat. Equal to tenacity % *2. Your real first defensive stat in pvp : Arp. Resist. base is 40%, and you can reach 86% with pvp gear.
Example : you have 20% tenacity, so 40% Arp. Resist. If your ennemy have 38% RI, his damages are reduced. If your ennemy have 40% RI or more, your Arp. Resist become 0.
3) Tenacity.
Tenacity reduce the majority of damages ( except piercing i think, and damages from few powers like Tr's Execution. ), and it's very effective.
Calculation is : your Damage * ( 1+ your RI%-Ennemy Arp. Resist% ) * (1-Ennemy tenacity %). ( or (1-Ennemy tenacity %)^2 if it's a crit damage )
Example : your ennemy have 4k Def and 16 CA, 39% Tenacity from pvp gear ( base of 20% + 19%) and so 78% Arp. Resistance. You have 60% RI from Arp, boons and Ability score, and you hit him, before mitigation, for a 100K crit damage.
Cause of your 60% RI, Def and CA of your ennemy it's calculated like 0. So your Terror enchant reduce 40% of nothing, and real ennemy DR is his Arp. Resist.
But with a full pvp set ( 4 pieces lvl 70 from glory or black ice craft + pvp rings ), we can reach 42-43% tenacity, so 84-86% ArP. Resistance.
i think you miss understood what 84% means , it's 84% of your arp ,
expl : let's say 4000 arp gives 40% resistance ignored , so after 84% arp resistance your effective resistance ignored will be : (4000 X 84%) - 4000 = 640 arp => 6.4% resistance ignored xD

Your calculation don't reflect my tests against lvl 70 pvp geared guys. 84% Arp. Resistance = 84% Damage Resistance in pvp for me, but i could be wrong cause of multiples variables, i readily admit.

1) (4200 x 80%) - 4200 = 840 = 8% RI + 3% + 25% = 36% RI. So ennemy DR is reduced at 0.
100k * 1 * ((1 - 0.4)^2) = 36K. Close to my 30K result, but i'm a TR. Without my 25% RI from feat, i hit for 100k * (1+0.11-0.13) * ((1 - 0.4)^2) = 35.2 k. Close too.

Depends of the situation. If you are a low % of Resistance Ignored ( less than 40% ) Arp is better for sure.
But need more tests for Armor Pen. Resistance calculations, a lot of variables in pvp 70, and because we can't inspect ennemies, it's trying, and a little indication from devs is welcome.

my arp is 40 + red enchants in gloves and helm = 48ish. im wandering if i should remove my R10 power and replace it with R10 ArmP. to make it even higher?(ive got 4 to replace - that means 430 *4 = 1720 = 17% in the sum it should make 65%. i should try it tonight,( and ill be getting 2 slot new prof rings that will increase my arm by another 8%, so that should be 73ish%.
its quite possible to get 82-84 with x2 RP when we get all maxed out artifacts etc...
Arp have a diminishing return, even with the 70 curve : i've got 4800 Arp now, and it give me 45% RI ( +3 % from a boon = 48% ), so, need 105+ points per %.
For the rest, we need more data, i can't say you with certainty "Try to reach 78-80% RI is better". Even with 84%, your damages will be divided by 3 cause of tenacity. So, i don't know if it's better to minimize the down of damages by Arp. Resistance or Up the base damage for counter Tenacity.

What i have understood is that Arm Pen Enchants (gems) are better to stack then Power (Radiant)? im i correct?
