Dungeon Queues are ridiculous.

I was trying to refrain from posting a complaint about these, but I have too. Today I was trying to queue for the level 33 dungeon Lair of the Mad Dragon for a couple hours. Not once did it pop. The worst part? I have to be afraid of going between zones for fear of getting kicked to the Play menu. I have to worry about even entering an instanced "dungeon" quest in fear of getting knocked out of queue. Top it off, after waiting roughly 40 minutes I'm mysteriously not even in queue anymore. Also, fighting Charaxthsis and killed him also ended my queue strangely enough. That didn't bother me as much because it wasn't wasted time. There should be some buffer if you get d/c or kicked to menu and you're in a queue, it should leave you in queue and AT LEAST give you a chance of staying in there, not just making you start over.

What's the deal? I don't expect it to be instant like Skirmish queues, because obviously it needs to find a tank and healer (or does it? sometimes we don't even get those) but come on.. I can't be the only one queuing for these. I guess I'm just going to have to form a group and take people, which is almost as much of a pain because absolutely no one communicates in this game. You can send tells and messages to people and they are silent. Even in groups I'd say 1 out of 5 Skirmishes someone might mumble. I feel like some people aren't even aware they have the option to chat since the game clearly doesn't explain how to do it for beginners, though it should be somewhat obvious.

I hope this queue thing is an actual bug and not something we have to deal with permanently, I've heard the PC version isn't much better. It would seem like this wouldn't be very hard to speed up a bit, especially considering the instant queue pops for the Skirmishes. Something just feels wrong and it's a bit discouraging when you're trying to do your dailies which you DEFINITELY NEED to get done to make any progress wealth-wise in this game.

Oh.. and fix the "back button + x" to leave group thing please. It's only happened to me once, but plenty of people I've been talking too in Xbox party chat have done it, too. It happened to my friend at the Cragmire Crypt last night after he had waited about 25 minutes to get in. Pretty sad.

I really enjoy this game and will continue to play it for a while I imagine, I just needed to get that off my back. I'm sure nobody is very happy to wait 30-60 minutes for a dungeon queue to pop. I'm only level 34 and I can just imagine how slow they are at a higher level because of difference in the amount of people playing in that level range. /rant

I'm a tank and the queues take forever. I had 3 friends with me 1 healer and the other were dps. we were in queue for 1 hour before we got kicked from the severs thats when my friends stop playing the game.

That sucks man. Some people just don't have patience for it, especially those coming from games (specifically FPS) where queues are a few minutes max. I have a friend who won't play as well because of it, but he's never played an MMO before so just doesn't get it. MMO queues for instances can take 5-10 minutes and I would happily accept that time. This isn't the case here though, obviously.

My tip to you would be if you have your group of friends, even just 4, go and enter the instance from the door.. if you have a healer, 2 dps, and a tank you could be fine and hopefully someone might join your group from a queue once you guys are doing the dungeon.

From what I've read queues were the same on PC. It's because very few people play cleric, and the game is constantly trying to get the limited pool of clerics into all the people queuing for dungeons. Not to mention you are doing a higher level dungeon, and the majority of people probably aren't at that level yet.

Skirmishes seems to be way more populare then dunegons.
I'm level 50 DPS at the moment and when I que for a skirmish I have to wait 30sec to 1-2 min but when it comes to dunegons I can wait 30min or more.

I'm aware that it takes longer because it's looking for a Cleric, but it still doesn't feel right. Even at low level where there are tons of players, it still takes 20-30 minutes to get in Cloak Tower, maybe even more. My friend was trying to get in one last night and never even got a chance. There are a lot of people around my level, sure maybe not as many as cloak tower/crag range, but when I'm in a zone leveling there are a lot of people, 15+ at the dragons sometimes depending on which instance you're in. I imagine a good portion of them are trying to get their dailies dungeons done as well.. it just doesn't feel right that it takes so long.

I'd at least like this thread to be acknowledged by a PW and have them confirm whether or not their is an issue with matchmaking for dungeons. If they said there was no issue, fine I'll deal with it, but if there is an issue I'll be a bit relieved knowing it's something that can be resolved... meanwhile, I'm leveling a tank and my friend is leveling a cleric.

I never realized thats why I seem to get instantly into the dungeons, when I am alone. Just thought I was lucky all the time. I have 2 clerics, 1 in low 20s other little lower. If Im around your level hit me up. IG malrogar, or oehk.

I have noticed though if I group with my family, (cleric + 2 rogues) it will take 20-30 minutes most times to get in. If they queue by themselves, even longer.

Also wasnt aware we could just run into the dungeon as a group of 3 or 4.

I am assuming they take long because there literally is no one wanting to Q for them.

Myself. I have not done one single dungeon and I am lvl 46 currently. Reason being is they, in my opinion are a waste of time as the gear isn't that good, the time it takes to finish/fail with a random group is long, and the experience you get from doing them is terrible.

New players that have never played the game I assume want to check out the dungeons. But I feel there is a large amount of people who have already played the PC version, playing the Xbox one version now, and they know its pointless and generally a waste of time.

They are generally just doing quests and leveling and gaining gear through that, and tackle the dungeons at lvl 60 where you will actually be wanting the gear that comes from them.

    Just my 2 cents =P

And how are skirmishes not a waste of time in comparison? They don't grant much experience and they don't give good gear either, yet queues pop for them instantly. I'm not exactly a fan of dungeons because they are kind of long and it's annoying when you don't have a decent group, but I want to get the dailies done. It's 3k (6k) Astral Diamonds that I'm missing out on because the queue takes so long or doesn't even work at all after an extended amount of time. I doubt people are avoiding dungeons because now that I'm higher level I'm seeing a lot of people in zone chats trying to get groups together, yet queues still don't work. That's why they're working around queues. I don't believe people aren't queuing. I'm a new player and I haven't seen the dungeons before so seeing them the first time is great and all, but like I stated before, I'm really after the diamonds. It's frustrating when I can't get the dailies done and that's what lead me to make this topic in the first place.
