THerefore if you are a wizard forget soloing unless your companion is healer so leave your strikers at home (you know the ones you spent time or money to get). Plain ignorant! Are you aware that regeneration and life steal were most important defensive stats for tanks in pve? Changes to regeneration will hurt tanks the most in pvp. And the changes was done because of pve and your broken builds!
look the test server is looking none too friendly for the melee and tanking classes right now but thats a damage reduction thing not a LS thing the reason LS was changed is to make it more of a supplementary stat and not THE BEST TANKING STAT IN THE GAME HANDS DOWN.

with my 14% LS on live on my GWF IV destro I can in phase 2 of the valindra fight, by myself tank all the adds spawned by all the coffins for 2 rounds of coffins and still keep dps on valindra and tank all those adds. As long as I keep my sword swinging I literally cannot die.
Have you played a CW on test? have you tried doing any solo content or do you actually mean soloing dungeons? because yea thats not gonna happen...
its not hard to do solo things on any class so until you actually go on test server and play some solo content you will realize that as long as you dont leeroy jenkins everything and play a little smart and use your dodges (or block depending) pot when you need it its not even remotely hard to level or do solo content as for dungeons they are currently borked and no class is having a good time in there and when a spitting spider in ToS hits you for 119k median I dont care how much LS you have it wont matter
so before you go all ham and nerd rage the forums about somthing you havent played yet based off somthing you read I would ether make a test toon and lev to 70 and run some stuff or at least go down to the test server forums and ask someone what life without LS is like honestly its not that bad
My main class is a Control Wizard (CW) 22.7k built for PvE with maximum DPS and as of today I am capable of soloing Castle Never. I also brought up a Guardian Fighter (GF) as I felt the need to play each class. I made a GF shortly after the release of Mod 2 and I can tell you from personal experience that it was extremely difficult to find a group to gear out my GF because there was no need for them. Increasing the difficulty along with nerfing LifeSteal and Regeneration will allow for more diverse groups to run dungeons. As a CW on the preview server I can no longer solo group dungeons. I happen to agree with these changes because it offers players with other classes to be needed along with the dps classes. I know players who enjoy playing tank/healing classes and this gives them a chance to be needed in groups just as much as the other classes.
I understand they are making some major changes but I hope these changes will bring a diversity of classes together for group content. It will also allow us to sell gear for higher prices on the Auction House which is something the experienced players have been complaining about for some time.

No. You seriously lost the sole purpose of the game.
In the metter of soloing dailies, You are still able to do it without a tank and without a heal, Not like they made all other classes completly useless.
As for the situation now. That ppl are worried they wont be able to continue soloing dungeons alone.

The situation is that i as a GF\healer have to ask guild and friends to run dungeons, Cause ppl just looking for dps.
CW's gave up on even doing the main role they are made for which is controlling, Just for plain DPSing.
As game became THAT easy, Change had to be done.
Thos changes that now on mod6 will "force" you to form a good group that's giving fair chance to each and every class and role are blessed.
So you can either keep thinking its unfair to YOU and you alone, Or ADAPT and actually understand that the community is only benefiting with those upcoming changers.

yea I am all for needing tanks and healers but **** with 28% dr on a geared out(full 70's purples and rank 10s) GWF I cant even make it to the red to get out of it lol I am all for challenge and I am fine with oh you died because you didnt get out of the red when your unstoppable was down but to die because a spitting spider spits for 120k damage thats a bit rough
The problem with parties is that most of the time 1-2 players actually play, other are just a filler. And this is valid for all kind of parties - guild or friend or just random. Now with changes, all members should participate, including cute-looking healers or slowly moving tanks or low DPS GWFs. Finishing dungeons will be rare and difficult

oh watch out GWFs are kinda dps monsters in mod 6 I ran destro and sent and both are squishy but with destro and a 12% boost to aoe and hidden daggers I was on par with the CWs and SWs on the runs I did
Alright, here goes:
a) Right now, wizards are absolutely unkillable in solo content as long as they are casting spells, & extremely durable in all but the most difficult dungeons (and as other pointed out, properly geared ppl can solo those), all of that due to a combination of lifesteal & AoE stuns.
b) Wtf are you using striker companions for? Right now, any companion aside from healers becomes irrelevant past lvl 30-40

no, actually you all missed the point, I don't give a ra about dungeons. I only care about pve and i wish to goodness there was no PVP. It is an abortion. SINCE i have been playing from the first day, i am quite aware and no I don't want to solo dungeons. SO you get a fricking clue. The point is that this change is unnecessary and it is in response to people who have to have 50k characters and make the dungeons and others things so weak by their op stats that this occurs but the rest of us who do not spend our lives and cash on becoming gods would like to be able to run without the devs having to jimmy the rules to keep the op players from walking all over the game. THE game doesn't need it the fact that someone can get so high they can dance through the most difficult dungeon is the problem. NO ONE should be able to get that powerful and the fact that the game allows that to happen exemplifies the sad shape that it is because of mismanagement of the whole concept on the devs part. BUT hey they just want to sell stuff so they need to make new and more op stuff available to buy or find in a lockbox. Now it is artifact armor and artifact this and that, and before that black ice junk and so on and so forth, so instead of nerfing THAT junk they want to change a basic stats use. Delete all of the artifacts and specials and the game will work just fine. As for clerics and other classes how about making able to do something other than just stand around casting heals. The specialization has gotten way out of hand but again that is so they can make you buy new classes and packs of junk. The campaigns are weak at best and so it is now all about how much junk you can acquire even to the extent that they keep a running count on it all so it gives the feeling of an accomplishment because someone has 298 pets or all of the x campaign armor or whatever. It has become a grab fest and this is a way to make characters weaker inherently so they have to buy more op stuff to make up for it to get the same high off of getting a new toy!! THIS not a game any more it is a shopping spree.

Why do I like to use strikers, because I happen to like the concept of using my black panther and am not out to power level or power play. There in lies the problem, this game is no longer (if ever ) about playing a story even a little, it is now all about the perfect max power build. The servers a full to capacity with power gamers and they can't even see that they have no interest in playing the game they have only and interest in "beating the game" with the maximum power build so that can be more op than the person next to them. Its a fricking beauty contest for power builds. And by the way, I managed to complete the entire original campaign using my cat and playing solo. I played it that way because it was the concept I wanted to use. However these constant changes by the devs to suppress op builds it eliminating the approach of having a concept and backing everyone into playing the op way. This is why I hate PVP because the power gamers who love PVP push the builds and carry them over into PVE and pollute it with the need to op. Then the devs try to reduce the impact on both and cripple PVE in the ongoing battle between power gamers maximizing builds and devs trying to "balance" the game. PVP builds should not even be allowed on the PVE side.

In rereading a number of these comments, I see many mentions of peoples characters always in terms of how many thousands of points they are. Nothing about the development or enjoyment of playing the campaign but how many points they can get and how much more they have than the next guy. Quite a measuring contest!. Nothing about concept of the character all about the mechanics, well maybe some of us still actually like to play a character designed to represent something other than the maximum points they can cobble together and run through the dungeons like madmen in a race for drops and to see who can score the most points to maybe get a better drop than the next joker. I think you have lost the idea of the game and its original purpose going back to the days of pen and paper and up to the present. IT is clear the devs have!

Every build is pretty broken due to how Regen and Lifesteal work.
In PVP they're just broken to about the same degree, so it's "balanced".
The way the current stats work, every toon is fully independent and needs nobody. That's not really what MMO's are about. They are more interesting than single player games (to me at least) because they require coordination and teamwork to be successful. Now the tank might just want to find a good healer to play with.
Come to think of it though healers are perfect tanks in Module 5, so maybe he doesn't need you :-) Hopefully that's fixed in Module 6.

Regen and Lifesteal are the least of my worries. There are more bugs in Mod 6 than you can shake a stick at right now.

You actually have it backwards. This change actually encourages more diversity between classes and within classes. Wizards, for example, are really only useful currently as pure DPS machines. This change actually makes Oppressors and other styles of Wizards not only viable, but desireable. And not just for group content.
It also encourages stat diversity. Between this change and the new stat curves, it's not as easy to max out all your stats. You actually have to make choices, you can't have it all. Choices equals diversity.

I must say i agree with everything he's written here, I just like to play the game and enjoy the story, i play alone and late at night,
most of the time there is no one around to play with and people are very snobby and rude on here.. Disrespect is rampant and for what reason, for me the story is dying and i cant follow and play as should be done.IMO

Any MMO has their share of snobs, but there are also many nice people. For example, the custom chat channel NW_Legit_Community is a large group of players dedicated to playing by the rules, and being kind to other players. You can apply to join at

Every application is accepted. You used to be able to join directly in game, but the channel became private simply to be able to keep out people that behave badly (people that cheat or are offensive to other players).

You'll be fine, just take your time and don't pull 20 npcs at once, use potions, and use portable altars if you need to heal between fights. I've tested some of the solo content with my CW and it's still (sadly) very easy. And no I don't have super legendary awesome gear of d00m, just random purples and decent enchantments.

While I get the change to LS because it was being massively abused, it appears that very few people really stacked regen. Consequently, I fail to see why that needs to be made useless (and having it kick in when combat is over -- when you don't really need it anymore -- is just adding insult to injury).
This might hold true for PvE. And even there I've seen more than one highly-powered GF doing this. Though it's ofc more difficult to stack than LS - no enchantments for it.

Enchants meant's such as radiant? Because both Dark and Black Ice give LS when put in the defense slot.

This might hold true for PvE. And even there I've seen more than one highly-powered GF doing this. Though it's ofc more difficult to stack than LS - no enchantments for it.
Enchants meant's such as radiant? Because both Dark and Black Ice give LS when put in the defense slot.
You mean pay for health stones right? Potions are nearly useless in mod 6.
