As many folks do, I have a small army of leadership toons cranking out small amounts of AD to help keep up with day to day expenses. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the good Rare tasks were showing up a lot less (seek out maps and Protect Diamond Shipment) and since the maintenance on Thursday they have become extremely rare. Across 20 or so playing and non playing toons I would usually get between 3 and 6 of the PDS tasks before the change and now I can actually go through the whole stack and get between 0 and 2 PDS. The trick of waiting an hour for the rare tasks to switch to get another shot no longer seems to work either.
At first I thought that my luck had simply turned bad again and the RNG was to blame. Now I'm pretty sure that Cryptic has been playing with the numbers behind the scenes again. Perhaps this was part of the overall leadership nerf that comes with Mod6 and we are just getting a nice preview. This just makes me wonder what other places the game will have it's screws tightened to the detriment of players. This isn't a huge thing, but another on the large pile of annoyances coming packaged with Mod6.
Oh, I suppose there's a sweet master flipchart somewhere on the servers where they can "fine tune" all the loot / rare task / refinement success / whatnot RNG tables to their liking and the current state of the game economy in global and the ZEN purchases in special...
...also, aforementioned good task IMHO always tend to get more frequent after they've botched up something badly, like after buggy Mod 5 launch, or after the Mod 6 release date postponing :^)
But this all might also be a perception bias issue...

Been getting PDS just fine these last few days. I think it's all in the crappy RNG this game has.
I hate dancing with Lady Luck. She always steps on my toes.
