As I said, the problem are not the 2x weekends, but the completely random way that they are held. Which leads to a game of waiting instead of upgrading.
When is the next 2x weekend ? Should I sit on my gems for 3 months, afraid to refine anything because I could miss out on a 2x weekend ?
From the three types of players it's actually the casuals who are in the worst spot to take full advantage of 2xrp. Those who spend large amounts of either, time farming items in game, or money off game, will have an advantage. In case of the former, they are more likely to have time to spend during the event on the actual process of refinement, slow going that. Not mention less likey to miss an event all together due to timing constraints and be put on hold for months. And in the case of the later, the convenience of rubies will let you take advantage of the event for less time involved, irregardless of what you spend between events.
Also, having 2x events will have been factored in on refinement costs..

i feel like a hamster, picking every rank 4 and every rp-stone, collect them, store them in the postbox since i can´t afford 200 slots for each cahr, its obviously a very useless and anoying thing
make rp drops 2xfrequent, give the double rp for slotting old artifakts in new ones , done
... and add more RP to compensate for removing them.
Double XP weekend does not cause players to stop leveling at other times.
Double Glory weekend does not cause players to stop PVPing at other times.
With Double RP Weekends the only sane strategy is to wait for such a weekend before refining. Any other strategy, you are wasting half of your RP's.
The idea behind the refining system is that you can refine your gear as you gather components to do so. Picked up a blue sword you don't need? Great! Toss it into your artifact weapon.
Instead of Double RP Weekends, please carefully monitor the changes in Module 6 to ensure that players can progress with refinement at a reasonable rate. If you remove Double RP weekends, increase the drop rate beyond what you currently have planned. If you must have a bonus RP weekend, select a number that makes it fun but doesn't make it the only reasonable time to refine. 10% sounds about right to me.
It was already ststed the the drop rates of refining items would be increased in mod 6on Dev Blog. I get double glory?Woot have one of those also please before mod 6 so i can max it for the new pvp armor!

well... for all the flaming, I agree, but I agree to a different point of view. they SHOULD increase refinement points DOUBLE to all times.
Grinding this RP is the worst part of the game... its already driven away a massive amount of player base and it gates out too many people and too many alts.
Its changed the game to nothing but negative since its release.
They lease they could do is just double it all the time and let us get through it faster.
IDEALLY they would just dump the stupid concept and let us get weapons the old way (playing the game until we get it) and then be done with it.
It doesn't work unless artifact refining isn't meant to be a grind from the hardcore to the most casual of players. There is no reasonable rate from consensus.
Double RP gives free or casual players a chance to get to BIS with proper planning. Without it, they have no chance, because no matter how much they raise the normal RP rate, it is going to be calculated against being grindy enough to get the the most casual of players to spend money.
Also, players are never satisfied. Before there was double RP, refining was (is) a tedious process. Players started to complain about it being too grindy or segregates players.
Then came double RP to ease players' burden, and we now need to plan and stockpile RP. New complaint, double RP schedule unpredictable, lack of storage space, more player segregation, unfair.
Is the solution permanent double or increased RP and removing double RP weekend?
No, that just makes it the new normal RP standard. And we are getting increased RP calculated against increased artifact caps btw to maintain the grind. Players will again start to complain new artifact caps is still too grindy and segregates players, unfair etc. Then double RP weekend will again be a want. So be thankful we have double RP at all.
Or they could just replace the useless double profession half hour (there is a limit on how many nodes you can loot before it gives useless items) with double rp and double rp drop. Great time to refine/farm for 30 minutes. Its often enough that people would not have to hoard their rp. If they want people to buy refining stuff from the stores, doing a 50% off sale (or making opening the packs with blood rubies etc give double for a weekend) is the same as having a double rp event while only getting the double rp (for your $) from actual stuff bought from the zen store. Players get a steady double rp and they can still make their money.
Doesn't matter what you guys say.. if it hurts their sales answer is NO.

Imho refining is such a tedious process because there is no way to quickly refine those 99 stacks of low tier materials. It has nothing to do with the overall availability of rp.
If it did not require thousands of mouse clicks to efficiently refine low tier stuff then casual players would also have an easier time. Currently it's just too much of a hassle to bother with all those R1,2,3 and other stuff.

That would be terrific, they should do it during foundry times as well.. unless they already removed that.. I cant remember now.
