Lootkicking is an even worse behaviour, but believe me, unfortunately all too common in this game. You've done your work and deserve your fair chance, but there are too many people in this game who think that fairness is for the weak, and hampers their progress to greatness. But your kicking did have nothing to do with your performance on the paingiver chart...

Now if we look in to tiamat, you can see how over 60% of the people goes afk, of course, because reward is given to the best, they know they going to get crappy reward so why bother?
    .

you have to bother , this is a competetive MMO like all other MMOs , if you think that way , probably this kind of games are not for you .

Everyone? I'm surely not one of the aforementioned 'everyone'. lol

CWs are trying to catch me! Which they haven't been able to do yet. SWs w/their single target DPS on bosses, and Tyrannical Threat, are the 'best' DPS class (pre-Mod 6) in the game.

    That being said...

I, personally, 100% agree with this. It really, in the end, doesn't matter. I think the game would be better off, and more hospitable, to the general masses of the games players w/o the Paingiver title/competition.

    Just one man's opinion... :)

Shush You...No one needs to know this HAHA

But like you and others I agree, I would be quite happy to see all those charts go away especially pain giver as it is so meaningless.

Okay and my other 2 cents...I actively use ACT to parse much of the time in real time. I can actually see what people are actually using as attacks, skills, buffs, debuffs from the combat logs. I use it for testing and also to see how I am doing. It gives me a more accurate idea of what is going on. FOr me it works better then just using paingiver TBH though in certain dungeons I do not even bother with ACT or Paingiver. I know when I am good and when I am slacking (usually something going on around me in real-life or too buzzed from drinks).

I have been in dungeons PUG groups and mop the floor on paingiver with ease. With that said it has made paingiver an useless metric for me. The funny thing is I have done these dungeons often enough I know what my total damage should be at nearly any part of the dungeon and where I should stand in the Paingiver chart compared to the rest of the group.

But I wished at least this metric would be removed.

point is, even if piangiver did not exist, and even if people did not know about their bad performance compared to CW, they surely will recognize very fast that without CW in team they fail or can´t deal with some encounter and have to wipe thousand times, again and again, there are some old dungeons with boss encounter and lots of mob-spawning, for some classes unplyable in mod 6 !!
so what is fair about that, leveling a char and not beeing able to absolve some dungeons or beeing dependant to CW´s?

No you draw a very simple "sunshiny" perspective of the current and especially the situation in mod 6

what about Icewinddale? Some classes never gets black ice set in case of dealing no damage
group composition will always be like some calsses are never needed, tahts a fact even without painigiver

and btw CW are not the best damagedealer in mod 5, warlock deals better atm or my ACT is badly broken, but this is gonna change, since someone want s to build a superclass

I find pain giver to be pretty meaningless. It clearly favours the aggressive and it shows when people play, and not in a good way. I wouldn't care if they got rid of it. More information is often a good thing but in this case I am not so sure. It might as well stay though, as people who want to know are going to figure such things out one way or another.

PainGiver is an extremely flawed metric fora number of reasons:
    1. Overdamage. If a mob has 6KHP left and you hit it for &k PG credits you with 7K, If you hit the same mob for 20K PG credits you with 20K. So it essentialy awward wasting DPS on things that were going to die anyway (A DPS CW's common practice)
    2. It ignores buffs/ debuffs. If on contact with the enemy 2 players buff/ debuff and the other three attack then only those attacking get PG rank even though the cumulative buff may be responsible for much if notmore of the actual damage occuring.
    3. It awards aggression over tactics. We've all seen that one guy rush ahead to engage more mobs and get PG. Which effectively (due to the lack of focussed fire and buff-stacking) made the dungeon take longer. But did accrue a lot of points in PG.

Basically I look to Paingiver as a vauge sort of metric of actual effective damage. If there is a really vast difference in the score it MIGHT be indicative of an overall difference in effective DPS. Otherwise it is utterly ignorable.
