Mod 6 Changes to Dungeon Delves Event

So on the preview server is a change to the Dungeon Delves event, which is now called just "Dungeons":

While I haven't yet done an epic dungeon on the preview server, my initial reaction is not positive towards this change:

1. I don't recall anyone asking for this change to DD. What was the motivation behind this change?
2. According to the event the dungeon must be completed before the event ends, as opposed to now when the party has to *start* the dungeon while the event is active.
3. How much Rough AD will the DD chest have? Is it based on the difficulty of the dungeon? RNG?
4. Will there be a DD chest like now? If so what will be in it besides the Rough AD? I am a little worried that they are getting rid of DD loot entirely since the base components for the new gear are available for purchase using Seals of the Elements and Seals of the Protector, including not just set pieces but also jewelry. So will there be any gear obtainable via DD events at all?

Now I suppose it could be a positive change if unbound boss loot is worthwhile (not blue gear in epic dungeons, please!!!), and/or we get a lot of Seals of Elements/Protector, and/or we get a lot of Rough AD for every dungeon run, but I am skeptical of this.

Could anyone who has a lvl 70 character on the preview server find out how this event works, and also find out what is in the DD chest (if any!) during the "Dungeons" hour?

    Not wanting to hijack the thread but is it possible for anyone with a lvl 70 who checks out how the DD hour works now to pick up a Dungeons masters guide from the Wonderous bazaar ( 1AD ) and tell us what the cache of elements and cache of the protector are please as well -

    It's very possible that they want to slow down the gear acquisition as well in Module 6. But if the trade-off is that the bossed drops better (and valuable) loot, I'm fine with that. I'm so tired of killing a boss in Malabogs, Valindras, or LoL and only seeing crappy blues drop.

    Assuming that those bosses rly drop better, well so far evry new mod was bringing a price falling, and almost no valuable items. u think it will change?

    well i like the changes. isnt right that t2 sets cost 4-5k in AH

    The t2 problem is because of tiamat drops. I don't see any problem with DD chest giving Armor pieces to players. And i have NO idea wh they think it's a good idea to change it. So now players will either have to farm until the loot drop and pray for a nice roll OR buy it with like 800k in AH? Before tiamat the prices are high too but at least player can choose to take their chances during DD hours. The change make it highly UN-player friendly especially for CASUAL players. :(

    well mabey its because most people that run dd now salvage everything the get so they are skipping the midle man if so im ok with this as long as bosses drop enough ad to make it worth it

    Thats acctualy nice info. no more chessy 5 dps party and speed runs i guess, at least till next power boost.

    5 DPS speed runs will get annihilated. Utterly annihilated. With no tank and no healer I don't think it's possible. Syndryth and the adds with her are merciless. DPS classes get swatted like flies if there is no one to draw and hold aggro.

    On preview server, epic dungeon keys cost 5000 AD.
    If you want to open a chest and don't have a free key, then buy a key.

    Ok, my guess is: you could acquire seals and epic gear far too easily by doing multiple dungeon runs in a DD hour. To reduce that rate, they removed the chest, changed the gear from the chest to RAD (probably twice less then it's salvage value since it's cryptic after all), and put 18 hours timer on the main chest(s).
    M6 almost drains your soul given how boring it is. (c) joocycuzzzzzz

    DD chest gone was to slow down the income of AD into the game. People farming purples and deconstructing them makes a really big amount of cash come into the game, leadership was probably on par with this.

    They reduced both, it'll reduce the game's AD inflation, I think it's a nice change, because people will only run so many dungeons without free chests it has less motivation to do so.

    What gear are you wearing if you don't mind me asking ? did you manage to finish the dungeon and if so what is the new reward system like?

    There was a Epic ToS run by the developers that failed at the boss. Two of them had left, 1 was disconnected, and 1 was AFK. I queued into the instance at the final campfire and figured "what the heck? I'll see what I can learn."

    Needless to say, I got curbstomped. Repeatedly. The worst part was a few times when I died the adds (who can 1-shot me) came through the door to the campfire and would re-kill me the moment I released from death.

    I had the new epic weapons at Legendary, Eternal gear (for the 40k extra HP), a Transcendent enchantment equipped and am generally pretty decked out on the preview server.

    I did have a little bit of success at one point. I managed to dodge all of her adds at the campfire when I respawned then led them far away where they killed me. Then I could respawn at the campfire and go in and fight Syndrith with her adds lost in the hallway. I was able to use the stairs to hide from her for about 5 minutes while I chipped away at her health. But before she had even lost 10% HP she summoned more adds and I was toast.

    Indeed. I wasn't trying to duck the question, but I didn't think anything good could come from me continuing to post in that thread.

    Here's what I and my weapon look like on preview:

    I'm not going to disclose my full build yet. I am an oppressor, but a high DPS one. At the trade of blades I can rack up over 70k DPS with my build. However, that's under ideal conditions where I don't have to dodge and only have to worry about damage. In a real fight like in Icewind Dale I have to put shield on tab (or I'm dead) which hurts my DPS a lot. Also I can't just fire spells as fast as possible because I have to worry about control. If all of my spells are on cooldown at the same time everyone wipes. Also I need to slot Orb of Imposition, which again, hurts DPS.

    lol 50 raw? I wouldn't even pick that up off the ground. even like 2k would not be worth the time. for my time, I would require no less than 10k raw. I can get 10k raw by investing 60 seconds quing up leadership,... if they don't sweeten that pot no-one will ever dungeon delve.

    so far looks like the devs want this game to go totaly pvp there are removing all insentive for pve players

    Well, that's down to market conditions. Demand will be much higher than it currently is, because everyone will have to start over on working for their sets. At the same time, with the removal of the chest (though there may be other rewards to replace that, like with keys that cost AD), supply will also drop. So if the sets that will drop in dungeons are at all good, the prices will initially be quite high.

    It is NOT increasing the reward for active play. For each run of t2 you can get around 8k-10k rough AD usually from the chest by salvaging. I DOUBT that the new DD event is offering as much RAD as rewards. So no it doesn't increase the reward, contrary it's reducing it.

    And also it will be a RNG race now. Demand will be much higher to a ridiculous point surpassing even prior mod5. The ONLY reason that the price of t2 sets dropped is because Tiamat is dropping them as rewards and nowadays people don't' run anything except tiamat. Without the DD free chest, new sets can only be acquired through drops (Oh pray for the roll and the nice little drop rates or farm to death) OR just buy them off AH at insane non-affordable price. Note that the DD chest doesn't not increase supply since it's BOP sets. Therefore, the DD chest is MUCH needed and I would prefer if they bring it back.

    Also good job in increasing the dungeon difficulties, looking forward to get a proper run with a GF friend :)

    Yeah sounds like it too. I'm a pure pve player but now I'm doing gg pvp for the seals for the new pvp set because I don't wanna play with ****ty RNG drop in dungeons. RNG never loved me and all my armor were from chests :( I've yet to seen any nice drops roll into my pouch rolls but i've seen some on others, praise the split runs ;)

    are you sure? there is no reward for pvp. now and in future. you get few rad, mostly useless glory, but no chance for big drop or refinement drop. they dont change or fix anything
