I don't get why people are complaining about saving herald rewards , after the first couple of days the lvl 70 artifact gear is going to be just as cheap as green quality artifact gear is now on live , I just opened 53 herald rewards and got 3 belts and one cloak? ( no idea why the cloak dropped , maybe it was from one of the other HE's) it isn'[t as if they are uber rare , if people are stupid enough to pay silly money to have the cloak or belt a couple of days before other people and probably even before they can wear it I don't see the big deal.

    1st 53 I opened , great haul xD -

    2nd 53 I opened , meh worthy haul xD -

Best preparation to Mod 6 I can think of: look out for another game (I'ld suggest one where playing is fun instead of work and where you aren't being ripped off your previous successes by inept changes).

I barely managed to get 3 artifacts and artifact primary to legendary and reading about the new better artifacts just makes me want to quit.

I think my main concern here is it is giving us too many things to focus on. I would have been ok if the artifact gear was still something to work on. However, since there are pets, enchantments, gear, artifacts, weapons, AND levels, it's completely daunting and doesn't at all feel appealing.

New content and maybe ONE of the changes would be acceptible. But they are clearly being driven by greed rather than by making a game the most fun it can be. You can have both. You don't have to make it so obvious what the motivation is.

I never complained about this game until artifact gear, and even then I wasn't overly bothered until MORE artifact gear. And why is there more artifact gear? Certainly not because people said 'yay this is good!' It is only because they saw spikes in their profits when artifact gear was introduced. And they went forward without giving a care to the people who care about their game the most.

On the bright side, we now can dump our artifact gear into the new artifact gear, which at least gives us _some_ refund on our invested RP (like 40%). Last round, getting 1300RP (or some 2 or 3 gold pieces - but who has demand of those?) for my BiS crafted VT weapon was _quite_ a pain...

I think it is so we can be ready for the launch then spend an astronomical amount of Zen, AD and campaign currencies to get BiS and lvl 70 in one day.
Then on day two, and on all subsequent days, we can be totally dedicated to complaining about how bored we are and how there is nothing worth doing and how the previous mods were better.

I've only been playing about 9 months but I think that's how it works...

The sad truth is that this game's 'content' is simply upgrading gear.

what are you going to do with it once you 'max out' on day one?

Pvp? unless they roll out a equivilant gearscore matching system (havn't heard of one), it will be just as pointless as it has been since escalating gearscores started.

Dungeons? no point, no good gear worth reselling.

Story? done by the time you hit 70.

Exploration? does not exist in this game.

    My strategy:

    -pray-farm,
    -pray up my toon's lvls,
-maybe buy new artifacts ah if any come that way'
-lvl up a paly to 60 for fun.
-pray they make some real content for a future mod.

I seriously dont see where the real content in this game is? foundry? I wish they would give that some love.

So basically the whole idea 'preparing', beyond getting your crafting ready, baffles me.

When Mod 6 hits it will be much easier to refine NORMAL artifacts, so I would save all dropped Refining Stones for Artifact Equipment only. Mod 6 drops alot of rank 5 enchants which give a minimum of 1000 Refining Points for your NORMAL Artifacts. From what I can see, refining will be much less of a headache in the future.

We are getting huge boosts to some of our stats when Mod 6 hits. My Defense went up so much that it reached a big point of diminishing returns. So I am reducing my Defense in preparation and increasing other stats like Deflect Arm Pen etc.

edit: Actually, from what I am understanding, the calculation for level 60 defense is different than for level 70. It takes much more defense to increase the damage reduction as you level up. Hence......I really dont know what to do about this

My understanding is that dungeons are getting a major facelift and that the release of them will be an ongoing process even after Mod 6 is released. So, I would not give up hope on the "content" aspect of the game just yet.

So far I've heard that there'll be no (or less) diminishing-returns-effect, but a rather linear 400 stat => 1% effect curve... ...did you really go after your Def figure or did you really see DimRet as observed by looking at your Damage Reduction???

I had edited my post after I learned that the new stat curve is just mind boggling to me. It appears that as I level up, my effective stats get worse. Is this in addition to the enemies getting harder in higher level zones? If true....I am agast!!!!

I guess the assumption is that as we go from 60 to 70, we will be getting better gear with better stats to make up for the way the new curve works? Or maybe a way to make us use actual companions more?

Farm Draconic Heralds in WoD but don’t open rewards: Two things: a) The HEs get a pretty significant upgrade in the RP they drop and b) will drop the new Greater Artifact Belts. If you save the rewards and claim them in the new Mod, they will contain the upgraded loot. The ones that absolutely want BiS on the first day and can afford it will pay a fortune for the first new Belts available. So if you luck out on the rewards, you are going to make a decent coin

I have a question, for example, I farmed Draconic heralds for 15x this day then farmed again the next day for 15x, Will they stack and not disappear?

Can you "unclaim" these reward indefinitely? Is there a cap on how many can remain unclaimed? Can someone confirm this?

My fear would be that I keep the rewards unclaimed and they all disappear after the Mod 6 patch . . .

...they might get reset to "Enchamt and Potion" only - at least it was my feeling that just that had happened to some 20 unclaimed heroic encounter rewards (from as well WoD as IwD) on my SW after I simply didn't play her for some three or four weeks.

    Another one to add:

If you're wanting to get to level 70 sooner than later do all of the Sharandar, Dread Ring, Icewind Dale, and Tryanny of Dragons quests in the days before the Mod 6 Launch. Don't turn any of them in. Equip Azure enchantments in Utility slots for XP boost. Then at launch run around and turn all of the quests in.

Except that Sharandar is no longer there, It has disappeared from preview and i don't know if it'll re-emerge.

There was an announcement when the preview server came online, stating that they left Sharandar and Dread Ring out as they wanted people to test the new areas. Also, if you'd leave that out, all newer characters would be at a severe disadvantage - as they could never earn all those boons.

So I suppose that this is a preview-only thing...

most of this is unnecessary. I would say the main thing people want to do is farm dragon coins, at least 200, because you will want the level 61 "eternal" set (blue) on day one (or at least once you hit level 61) yep you heard me, you'll be wearing all blue, throw out your old purple gear set, it is utter garbage... and it will be next to impossible to do WoD at level 61 since it is now a level 73 zone... you also want 15 linux flavors for the new arty cloaks, again it will be nearly impossible to get once mod6 goes live.

other than that maybe stock up on peridots since you will need 1000's more to level all the new arty gear, I'm sure prices will skyrocket.

Forget this tip. See the new preview patch notes:
Heroic Encounter Rewards are now clamped to level 60 values if earned then.

Try to sell all BoE RPs: This one is hard to predict, because both the supply and the demand will be going up in Mod 6. Overall though players will be able to get their RPs a bit easier and, that’s important for AH value, more BoE RPs will drop.

This one I kinda disagree witih.

Ever since mod 4, they've gone with the direction of making PVE unfarmable and luring players towards their credit cards to get BIS gear.

I think they will do something to quell the noise against it, but save your RP because it won't be enough. (they even nerfed leadership)

Finish all your daily AD quests from Lord Neverember before the launch date, whatever it is, for they will be no longer available.

Enjoy your last few SoT and LoL runs for the standard versions of them will not be available per the latest patch note on the Preview Shard, and the epic version will not be available before you reach level 70.

In the mean time, think about what you want to do with all the nerf of existing content and loss of source AD in the wake of increasing cost on artifacts, raising cap of enchantments from R10 to R12, re-refining artifact gear, ranking up purple companions, etc.

here here! thats my only real complaint, seems like the bean counters have dungeoned the talent. No real creativity in the game anymore just repainted grinds to try to force people to pay money. The newer players don't see it but when you get close to endgame there's been nothing really new since dread ring. Maybe IWD but it was pretty lame but at least a few new dungeons and bosses. Please please please let the artists out of their shackles and let's get some creativity here and dump the grinds

Okay I know WoW is sub and this is FTP but why don't they just tell us what they are going to do?I don't seem to ever remember not knowing what was coming in the new WoW "modules" before they came out. There was better gear because there were stonger mobs and bosses in the new level/mod. I don't remember any fuss about what was gonna be nerfed or lost etc. EVER but maybe my memory is not as clear as I think. I really enjoyed the WoD area/map I'd really hate to see mod 6 come out and just have repainted old areas or juat an added place for a dragon like the first ToD

Also FYI I'm mainly a PVEer never did much PVP just not my thing

    Here's a thought:

Stop putting these thoughts on forum to attract attention for the Devs to nerf. They don't want you to be prepared and get everything on the first week (or first day).
Merlin - CW Merlyn - HR Psylocke - TR Black Widow - GWF

Have the gear and skills, but lack the friends to play with? Come and apply for Essence of Aggression. We have been here and strong since beta. (Immature, rude, and arrogant people will not be accepted)

Too late. They already changed the lvl 20 leadership task from 12 hours to 16 hours
