Templar Armor Effect

So I was hoping the 50 feet of the Draconic Templar armor set was accurate and didn't bother to check it out, but I just noticed something off...

I wasn't able to see the debuff untill I was literally 2 feet from the enemy. Is this a bug or does the game not follow normal units of measurement?

    Not sure about templar, but aura of draconic armor on my GF worked as it should. Maybe just us? Again.
