I am new with HR. As per my observation with this skill, it is in fact useful in PVP and a good one. But sometimes I am pissed off using it, I don't know if it's a bug or it's the skill itself, that when you jump and use it, it tend to stuck while animating. And can't rely that much especially when you have just been simply controlled by CW, the backward movement stunt doesn't work. If you would just check its tooltip, it says there "Escaping" from enemies, but it's like it defeat its own purpose from escaping lol. I hope they would give attention to fix this or rework by giving a chance to ignore controls when using it. Or they should just change its tooltip :P
there's a moment about escaping animation...
if i remember that right, the whole animation of the skill you're considered to be at the point you've began movement. so, if someone put smth controlling in that point while animation isn't over, you'll be controlled, no matter how many jumps you seemed to be away.
if that moment still exists, then it's like your case.
//if fact, non-damaging in ranged, poor damage in melee.. you do have better skills, ask another HRs, maurader isn't something that should be in you bar. (espec. in lower feat tree ^^)
I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about but if I've got this right, I have to wonder why you are picking on Marauder. Every power works that way for me. I am always conscious of a slight lag. Powers with elaborate graphics only exaggerate the problem. They'll run their course, but a split second later, you'll find that they hadn't actually worked. More than Marauder, Forest Ghost is a problem for me. When I first gave it a try, I couldn't figure out why it was that after triggering FG a lot of the time I could still be seen. Finally figured out that the timer and action points would reset and on a 2nd try I could enter into stealth...that is if I wasn't dead already. But every power it like that. Always takes a split second to get confirmation. And usually by that time things are a bit screwed up. Always has me wondering how these online aces can claim to be playing at a higher level than the rest of us mortals in a game where the mechanics are so unpredictable.

No the OP has it right. I know what he is referring to. While we are able to dodge in mid-air (very small distance mind you) we can only use Marauder's Escape on the ground. Try jumping and then using ME. You go nowhere. Try using ME on the side of a cliff or edge. You go nowhere. It is stupid. And as OP pointed out ME is an escape mechanic yet you cannot use it when CC'd and it does even get interrupted far too often. It was a very handy encounter for me in pvp, great for mobility but it's just too unreliable for the most part.
