Hello fellow
PvE TRs,
What
Encounter powers do you usually slot for the
Tiamat raid? I was saving Power Points for awhile now and have got some to spare and was wondering where to slot it best:
I play as a
MI-TR and have
Smoke Bomb (SB) /
Lashing Blade (LB) / and
Path of The Blades (PoTB) usually slotted along with
Skillful Infiltrator (SI) and
Tactics (TT) usually slotted as I found that these
Encounters raised the rate of my
Daily AP the fastest plus
SB helps a lot with the
Protecting the Clerics phase of the fight.
But they're not particularly good at actually
giving a good damage to Tiamat, imo. Can Tiamat have it's defence ratings
decreased by player Encounters? Because I'm currently looking to get
Wicked Reminder (WR) which temporarily
lowers the enemy's
damage resistance. Does anybody know by
how much it is lowered by? And does WR work on
bosses such as Tiamat?
The other power I was looking to fill out from my power tree is the
Courage Breaker Daily which lowers the enemy's
attack damage by
30% and increases the player's
Power rating by
25%. Would this help me in
increasing my
DPS rating against Tiamat?
Thanks for your suggestions!

Tiamat phase: Wicked Reminder, Lashing Blade, Dazing strike.
This is assuming you're able to multi-task and switch powers frequently
if you cannot... I'd "Hybrid" it up tbh. Smoke - Lashing - Dazing Strike
Guardian Fighter main. I will never switch to Paladin even if we're a dying breed. GF for ever!
Main alts: Great Weapon Fighter, Control Wizard.
Is Dazing Strike really more effective than Wicked Reminder?
Dazing strike is more versatile than Wicked Reminder for sure. Wicked is single target. Whereas Dazing can be both single and multiple.
Can't believe I'm helping a TR but I actually like PVE TR's. They are good people compared to their scumbag PVP counterpart.

Yeah, DS might be effective on the mobs but I'm talking about when attacking the Tiamat heads themselves. I think WR would outperform DS simply because of it's effect to lower damage resistance on the enemy. The thing is, I don't know if this effect works on (large) bosses like Tiamat so that's why I'm asking if it's worth putting points into that power or not.
P.S. -- I do have Blitz already and I think it's quite useless tbh. I regret putting points into it, but luckily I have a Respect Token.
Re-Read my post above. Wicked Reminder is better but you're required to constantly switch powers between the Heads and Clerics.
If you're fine with that... follow my rotation above. If you hate switching powers constantly, take the hybrid rotation I gave.

Dazing Strike is honestly too good. It's never left my bar ever. Huge damage, hits everything in front of you in a WIDE arc, and a nice long daze too? I'm amazed it hasn't been nerfed. Lashing is just huge damage and it helps kill things in cleric phase too. Deft must look weird, but I really love it for the ability to move around much more quickly. Gets me out of aggro and onto my horse nice and fast so I can get to a head and start stacking bleed on it. I can be the first one to black even if I'm defending cleric on the opposite side sometimes.
I'd really love the ability to switch powers more efficiently though because it'd be a lot nicer if I could use Dazing Strike, Smoke bomb, and Path of Blades during clerics and then switch over to Wicked Reminder, Lashing Blade, and Deft for heads. But trying to change powers often leads to me running off a cliff or getting ganked by the mobs I was running from if I stop, so I don't bother with that anymore and just try to mix the most useful powers together.
Yeah, that usually happens to me too when changing powers and I leave auto-run on. But your post just gave me an idea: what if the devs made it so that it's similar to HRs when switching Encounters with a(n unassigned) button (similar how HR I believe has "Tab" key to switch stances and switch the effects of their Encounters). That way we could still have Q, E, and R but double the power slot from a switch button. Although that would probably lead to character imbalance and a whole host of players complaining about the change.
Thanks for the tips!
I can probably handle doing Encounter rotations and just switch out PoTB with WR in-between Cleric phases and Head phases; but I'll most likely keep LB and SB permanently slotted.
Thanks for the tip
This will give you double-stack PotB which is mainly for constant AP generation but not too shabby damage as well. With this setup you basically have 100% AP every 17~18 seconds or so... so it's basically (almost) perma double PotB + Bloodbath spamming every 18 seconds.
