UI needs work in general

I get that there was a LOT of work already done with the NW port to console with the Chinese version. We're basically playing that version translated. But the UI just feels rushed.

- the menus are nice, I like em.
- the powers and abilities at the bottom, made to look like the xbox controller, just looks clunky and there is really no need to see it all the time. Streamline it and let us hide it. I know how I mapped my buttons after like 2 minutes of play.
- stamina bar needs to move to Portrait area in upper left(other forum poster mentioned this in a thread)
- I really don't see the need for the special ability arc next to my character in the middle of the screen, it's duplicated by the RB button at the bottom.
- chat...ugh.
- not directly UI, but let us zoom our characters. Least in town?

Developers, Cryptic....take a look at this video. I'm not selling ESO, I'm just trying to give you ideas on how to present a UI port from PC to console. The video is well narrated. Watch it all because it shifts from first person view to third person view about 1:30 seconds in. The third person view will give you the ideas. See how the ability bar is flat, and actually is optional. See the cooldown bars come up only when needed. Etc etc.

Again, just trying to help. I'm enjoying the beta, reporting out on the forum, and twitching the entire time for my followers. A little polish on the UI will go a long way.

I would like to add that they should also allow a custom color option for names of both party and everyone around. Either to make them gone all together or make the colors more noticeable.

A few things I would like to add to this discussion....UI interface scaling...most of the on screen windows like character and group portraits and especially loot roll windows are over excessively large and could use a considerable amount of down scaling. the buttons for controller functions are a decent size but I agree with the OP that not all of that needs to "clutter up" the screen space all the time. if you scale down most of the windows that currently take up upwards of 50% of the screen space there would be plenty of room on screen for a mini-map.

I was just about to post something about this. The scaling is quite large. They could just add a preset Small, Medium, Large option in the settings...with the Medium/Large being the default, as it looks like the current Player and Party frames are almost 1/3 of the screen.

I would also like to add that all of the controller commands at the bottom are cut off, they aren't affected by the screen parameters you set before you start the game.

Anything that says Press (A) to accept or whatever it is at the bottom are pretty much unreadable cause most of it is cut off, keeps you guessing.

The game is free so it hard to complain. with that said. why cant we change the colors of chat(say/tell/group/etc.). why cant we change the scale of the text in chat or the window itself. why cant we turn profanity filter off. Is disappointing that some of the feature we consider standard for an mmo aren't in the xbox version. I just hope they come to there senses and add them.

I just want the ability to scale the ui, i am using a big 40 inch tv and sitting a couple feet away, not playing on a 20 inch tv sitting 10+ feet away, i don't need everything so massive taking up half my screen.

Anyone else ever been in a group and try to just greed roll all of the greens, but accidently push select+X one too many times? Turns out that's the same buttons I push to leave the party -_-.
