Hi folks. I played at release and I'm returning now. I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for this information, or break it down here for me. What major content patches have there been, in what order, and what have some of the features been? I see Rise of Tiamat and Shadowmantle sounds familiar to me for some reason. Also, any word on the Elemental Evil release date?
Wow! That is a lot to ask. There have been so many changes.
You said you "played at release," but you did not say when you stopped playing. That information would help in knowing where you "left off" so we can better communicate what has changed since you left.

Right! *facepalm* Sorry. I played at release and there were no major content patches/modules when I played. I played for probably a month or two, I think? Long enough to get a character up to 50ish. But I don't recall any big patches so I was looking for a full list to sort of catch up on what's new and the story/events since release.

Wow...depending on how long you've been gone, there's really too much to type out in a reasonable amount of time.
tl;dr version:
Artifacts/artifact equipment, boring dailies from campaigns to get boons (permanent stats boosts), open pvp (though it's pretty deserted), a 'raid', bugs, pets with active bonuses, overflow xp to get all powers (I'd save the overflow points), TONNES of lockboxe$, collection of items from ctrl+j to show where to get most of the important stuff, pvp ladder (not really on the level of other pvp games, plus pvp is more imbalanced than it was). Honestly the content at release was the best there was, but there is a lot of content nonetheless.
Given how brief a window how long ago you were playing, I would just go ahead and consider this a whole new Game. Start from scratch with a fresh character and work on getting to 60 with it. Worry about the End Game stuff and your Boons, etc. only after Mod 6 comes out in another month or two due to massive changes to just about everything and a new Class coming out.
