A solution: pvp heroic encounters and dungeons

Intended to throw a new spin on pvp and provide for some competitive pvp play.

A pvp heroic encounter would be an instanced area where one or more high powered characters would fight a larger group of lower powered characters.

Using an imaginary uniform scale of character power (call it "character power" lol) that went from rank 1 to rank 10, a rank 10 would fight 2 rank 5's, 3 rank 3's, 5 rank 2's, or whatever combination/number of lower ranks that together equaled his higher rank.

This would not be domination as it is now but could come in a couple of forms:

1. Domination "ish"- A fight over a locked chest. The winner(s) get the contents of the chest. This should be a "grab bag" reward that could be refining points, astral diamonds, or glory, or some mix of all those. There would be only one node and the match would last only five minutes. Whichever side has the most points at the end of the five minutes wins.

2. Heroic encounter "ish"- An example would be "npc's". The higher powered team (with less players of course, as above), would be charged with protecting "the npcs" (or whatever). The lower powered team (more players) would be charged with attacking and killing off the npcs. The match ends when all the npcs are dead or when 10 minutes elapses. Rewards would be based on how many nps remain at the end of the ten minutes or if all nps are dead.

This could be taken in a lot of directions and end up being a lot of fun. The encounter could be "protecting the hatching dragons", one team protects the dragons as they hatch, the other tries to stop them from hatching (by killing them). The protecting team wants to save the hatching dragons so they can be sold, the attacking team wants to kill the dragons because, well they are dragons. The dragons all hatch after five minutes if not killed. In either case, after five minutes if any are still alive or after they are all dead, momma dragon appears and attacks both teams, at which point it becomes a pve encounter and all the players are on the same team.

This idea of pvp heroic encounters could be expanded to entire (though short) dungeons. With players fighting other players in groups of unequal numbers (though roughly equal character power). If done well it could be a blast.

    Great, great suggestions. I'd run them all day.

    One note with divisions 1 to 10 etc., as of now, a couple of k gs makes a huge difference in pvp, say I at 22k fight 2 11k players... well, they're dead in seconds. Hell 5 of them are dead in seconds. So whatever criteria is used for the ranking system it would have to be a lot less linear.

    Anyway, knowing this game this is all a pipe dream, but here's hoping.
    No idea what my toon is now.
