Acolyte of Kelemvor & Life Steal changes

Ever since I've heard about the life steal changes I've been fearing it'll affect my Guardian Fighter's faithful companion for the worse, so I figured I'd ask if anyone has any idea whether these changes will be beneficial for the acolyte or ruinous? =/
I haven't read the changes yet, but so far word's going around in game that it's a pretty big nerf to life steal*.

And also as a friendly reminder for the devs to keep her in mind, and possibly tweak a few things if the new system's meant as a nerf to lifesteal. After all it's also to their benefit to keep the store companions viable. ;)

* Of course people are prone to exaggerating, so I'm taking it with a grain of salt until I see the results myself.

I think it might actually be good. Her buff gives you an enormous boost to Lifesteal rating, which in the current system is mostly lost. However, in the new system (combined with the relaxing on diminishing returns to encourage stat stacking) her bonus could actually be worth far more.

I'm more concerned about the fawn which is based on regen that won't work at all in combat.

Honestly, I feel like once all the feedback is said and done, there will be a component of regen that works in combat.

This is on my 'to test' list once preview is back up. I have the Acolyte for both my GF and SW. Along with the fawn on my HR.

I'm less concerned about the Acolyte than I am about the fawn though.

I assume we'll still have heals over time. They could just change the fawn to that.

The update will also increase the level cap of companions by 5, so you should be able to unlock her level 30 ability for free...

Cool, sounds like it'll be a positive thing then!
I also didn't know about the Fawn, I haven't played with it much yet. Generally most of my characters use the Faithful Initiate, or a specific companion that I like for them (in my GF's case, the Acolyte of Kelemvor that I bought way back at the game's launch xD)

Just did some brief play with my GF and the Acolyte of Kelemvor. Went to beat on some level 63 enemies whilst still level 60, including some HEs - 6 of those little crabs in the HE on the beach can take health off pretty fast. I had no survivability issues and once I re-slotted Enforced Threat, neither did my Acolyte.

I'd have to try again without a companion to confirm but she still seems good. She is level 35 now though, I don't know how much of a difference that makes.
