Since were all aware of the upcoming OP class, I'd like to make a few suggestions to designs of its main hand and abilities.
Firstly it would be delightful to see some of the following weapon designs, ability special effects etc, obviously at this point in time I'm sure the devs are about finished with the abiltiy designs but look forward to my ideas inspiring its next paragon path...
1, A new paragon encounter, perhaps something like this has already been designed current by DEVs but I call this... Chains of radiance, you throw out a bright chain made of holy radiant magic, pulling your target towards you and throwing them to the floor for 3 seconds, each rank increases range by 5" and damage by 10%
A new daily for the future paragon path... Called Unholy Rage, you transform into an undead paladin for 5 seconds
your immune to CC, damage, and anyone who comes within 10 feet of you is blasted with radiant beams dealing around 750-1000 damage, basing that on a tier one level 60 epic main hand, each rank increases the duration by 1 second and the beam damage by 10%
New at will for the upcoming OP paragon path, you summon fiery chains and whip your opponent with a about a max range of 20 feet, the 4th strike of this at will prones the opponent for 2 seconds, each strike has to be charged up for an equal about of time as storm pillar, you gain a stack which each strike and when you reach 3 the next attack will prone the enemy for 2 seconds, each stack increases your damage by 5% and the 4 stack gained will reset the stacks to 0.
Aspect for future OP paragon path, every time you are stuck you gain a stack of holy blessing, each stack adds 250 HP into a healing pool, once you reach 10 stacks each stack will go into healing your HP.
What do you think? Just some random thoughts into this I suppose.
Not based on dnd so I'd say no. In fact your idea of unholy rage is actually completely counter to paladins in dnd in such a way that it should never be implemented. Paladins exist to destroy undead not become them. Also I don't think the whole whips and chains thing fits what so ever with a paladin.

"Heavy armor (starting with chain at Lv. 1 typically, moving to plate as soon as can afford)
Shield (if going one-handed + shield)
Longsword, battleaxe or warhammer (if going one-handed + shield); glaive or halberd (if going Polearm Master); greatsword or maul (if going two-handed but not Polearm Master)
Holy symbol, for material component casting needs (on shield if using one; as an amulet if not)"
Personally, Id like to see the OP being able to wear GF armor ( its all plate right ). Also give the OP a choice between: 1handed weapon + shield and a Great Weapon. If my Paladin can have the GF Profound armor skin with a 2handed hammer, I'll pay money to develop him.
Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, Life is but a dream.

Yes, a Paladin should be able to choose between a shield and longsword set-up or one-handed weapon without a shield.
I really wish they had introduced the Druid first, however - already have the GWF and GF - needed another "priest-type" class since there is only the DC currently. . .

Precisely. And this also is why Paladin will not make GF (or DC, or GWF, or any other class "obsolete" as others are proclaiming the fear of). The Paladin is second-string on strength to a GF, and barely qualifies anywhere near a DC, but as a survivable tank: Bravo. Mostly a survivable tank that often focuses on a single target, buff party members. Strength (IE: DPS): Not so much. Actual healing power: not so much.
Well, at least based on 4e rules (Neverwinter Paladin will be based on 5e) - we just don't know what to expect exactly.

Unless, of course, you are a lich king.
Rename Unholy Rage to Lich King's Rage.
Sigh. I loved WC1-3 but man sometimes................ Arthas and that whole world is not this one.

read it and see what paladins "can" do
