PVP matchups with GS balancing without long que

Hi everyone,

While i am relatively new to the game i have a suggestion regarding pvp matchups.

It wont be the best of ideas but searching the forums i was wondering,

Is it possible to make a GS equally balanced team? I hear you thinking , they tried that and they failed, queues lasted way too long.

I agree, BUT, here it comes....

What if you implement the same system but without the need to join having a full team?

Let me elaborate, lets imagine they set a number on GS allowed for people readying to join a pvp match.

Lets say we put the number at 50k GS.

You and your friend both have 20k GS which makes 40k GS, another new player join with 10k GS, now you only have three people on the team.

The other team consists out of 5 players having 50k GS each of them having 10k GS.

Now think about it, these teams would be balanced except for the fact the 20k GS could easily stomp the 10k ones, but with their numbers they would actually stand a chance, or be tactical and go for map control, being able to be at more places than one.

Also, make a large enough space of GS so that you might end up with a team of 55k vs 61k, but at least it would be better to balance things out at the moment.
The easy way to counter this GS pool is to not let players be able to change equipment once they enter the pvp match, so there can be no abuse. (equipping 10k GS only to switch to 22k GS afterwards.)

Would this be a good idea? Giving the high GS players still a chance to slaughter new players, but with increased chances of losing and letting those new players actually stand a chance in numbers, or let the system be like it is, being stomped or stomp them, with having almost no chance at a balanced match?

Please be constructive in your replies, i love this game, and i really want to make it better for all those who play/enjoy it while trying not to step on ppls toes too much. With this system you still get to play with your friends, and lets be honest, who wouldnt want to fight 5 man head on with two of your friends on skype? Or be the underdog and beat those Gods in the pvp grounds with a GS that cannot be expressed in mundane numbers?

Sorry for the long post, hope you enjoyed my idea!

P.S.: more pvp games would be up and running, and it would make waiting for pvp shorter than how it is at its current state! And dusting off alts who will finally be usable for a change!

Match ups have never been GS based. They have never tried it.

I remember reading somewhere that they tried it, but it ended up for match ups lasting taking over half an hour. But thank you for pointing that out. May i ask what you actually think about the idea, and if it is too farfetched or not?

It was based off ELO rating, not GS.

IDK, some of the high GS players are literal unstoppable beasts.
So if I understand your idea correctly you could end up with 2x20k 1x10k VS 5x10k

I feel your idea could lead to more imbalance as is. Is class make up considered or just GS? Can you end up with 5 TRS vs 3 SWs?

To be honest, balancing based on GS will probably produce better results (my guess at least). The problem is working around the players who would game that system.

I suggest it would work towards team setups, Meaning it would look for other class options and not have 5cw vs 3cw unless they are fully premade, but then again, you can do that now as well. Unless ofcourse no one else is queing, but that would obviously be a very rare case of teams being made up of the same class.

As for working around the GS, i noted in my first post that they should lock the gear you wear, meaning you wont be able to equip items stashed in your bag, its not alot of programming to lock the items currently in your character slots upon entering a pvp zone.
