Hello guys,
I have not been playing my SW for a while, but I know they inserted a new paragon path.
My question is: do you guys had the free respec token?
Because I didn't, even tough I have created and chose my paragon path after the new one.

Your way to get free respec token. There are only two days left though so I doubt you get one unless you have like 10 characters or so.

I concur; odds are not in favor, but I just got another one this morning. PRO-TIP: Check the auction House for them. They'll surely be rather inexpensive right now because of the likely flood of them right now. Or, are they account bound? I forget.

I still think overall , they made a bad decision by not giving free re-specs with massive changes, (total re-balance, new paragons, both should have free re-specs.
I do appreciate the free tokens, just wish I had more of them.
It is ALWAYS been like this, so far! Everytime some class would have a massive change (such as introduce of new paragon paths) they have got a free respec token.
Why didn't we? Somebody have an explanation for this discrimination against SW? o_O

Because it depends on how the change affects game-play. Agree or disagree, we all know it's truth.
This is not true. To edify those who are confused: A new paragon path is not a change; it's an addition. An addition does not change the game-play of any current player of that class. All it does is add an option for new players of that class. Therefore because it is an optional choice based solely on desire and not need: no free respec token and rightly so. This is how it is supposed to be. So kwitcherbichen.
When are free full or partial respec tokens given? When there is an actual change in the existing system such as paragon feats, etc., then it depends on how those changes change the game-play and whether they are game-breaking or not.
In the case of the most recent changes to TRs it was only feat changes, and for some configurations (not all) they were game-breaking - so all TRs got a "Feats Respec" and that is all.
DCs got a complete rebuild; all their powers worked 100% differently, all their Paragon Feats worked 100% differently, some even removed completely and others added. This is a 100% game-breaking change for every single DC from level 1 all the way to level 60. So they get a Powers and Feats respec - but it's not a "full" respec the way people are talking about.
All the SWs got was a new Paragon path. Pffft.
Threads like this one only reveal the ridiculously selfish entitlement crowd and how laughable their demands, wants, and expectations are. But this is okay. The sad thing is that they don't even know it and don't care, some even flaunting it shamelessly. That's the painfully shameful pathetic part of it all.
No respec because there is no changes to your Feats etc.
I dont think you needed to get all offensive about people wanting a respec.
Almost every other game in the history of MMO's give a free respec when they screw around with your class. The problem here, is that there are 3 different ways to respec, and only one of them lets you re roll your initial stats and change your Paragon.
SO honestly, I don't think someone is being selfish by wanting the ability to switch Paragon and or feats after changes are made to the class.
But I also semi agree, no change to the Hellbinder feats etc, so why get a respec? But, I think that people should be allowed the option to change paragon path for free once they are added in this way.
Granted, you can do this on the test server, but it will still cost you on Live if you wish to do so.
Genuine response: if you are in the business of and make your entire living selling widgets, how is it any benefit to you or even good business to give away those widgets willy-nilly when there is no real reason to do so, and zero detriment if you do not?
Call me anything you want, but the truth is that this game studio is a for-profit company and their sole purpose for existing is to make real money, not to provide us with freebie entertainment.
Yes, sometimes truth hurts. The fact is if they make a change that breaks my game and then expect me to pay for a fix then I'll leave. That makes sense. But if they provide optional additions to the game in such a way as to entice you to spend a couple bucks to take advantage of then what's wrong with that? This makes total logical sense considering the people working for the company are not working for free and the company must find a way to pay them.
What other MMOs do or not is 100% irrelevant and a cheap cop-out argument from anyone who brings it up. This is Cryptic's House, no one else's.
This is a point that is made over and over in threads like this one. Okay, so what? Here it is again. I stand by every word of my previous comment including the part some may find to be offensive (and if it applies, then it applies, if not then not.) There are no laws on the books that protect you or me or anyone else from being offended. LOL
It has actually always been the opposite like when they added a second paragon path for the HR there was no respec token given. The only time they give a respec token is when they change the powers drastically, otherwise if they only change feats their was only a feat respec given.
I was just asking and my feeling has been that they always gave one. I didn't take in consideration that when they gave free respec tokens (free or partial) it was just when changing the class instead of adding new paragon path (which I still don't get, even if your paragon path is untouched, your class has new features that I don't understand why older gamers should not be free to try with their own Character).

Here's the thing - the first round of class reworks (I don't remember if it was Mod 1 or before that) they actually DID give everyone a full respec for free on ALL of their characters. And I mean in the Powers window you had a button to respec and when you clicked it you were asked if you wanted to use the free one or buy a new one. Then it happened a second time, but only to a few specific classes, not all of them.
It's never, ever happened that way and they have never, ever given a free full respec to anyone since. We're talking 18 months ago.
Now the only thing that happens is that feats and/or powers are *reset* - it's not even a respec at all, technically speaking. They just wipe your paragon or hero points clean and the same with powers - on their own schedule with no input from you; you are *forced* to "respec" whatever they reset whether you want to or not. That's the difference between a "reset" and a "respec" as I am describing this.
I suspect, as the rumor-mill-grinds-on, that the very first time - when everyone really did get a true full respec - is still being talked about by those of us who were there. Then it becomes hearsay, so that people like the OP have heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend, who heard it from... you get the idea. People misremember, people take what others say at face value, information rapidly turns into misinformation and so on.
This is what is really happening and the current rumor-mill BS of the day: "DCs causing LAG in Tiamat with Astral Seal". Ummm, no, they aren't (that was fixed weeks ago already); yesterday it was "TRs are so OP!!1!ONE11!". But the shouting about it still goes on.
You get the idea: most of the information you see, read, or hear about in the forums here is often questionable because Internet.
