...pushing shift+tab+direction at the same time. I can replicate this every time on my GWF. Not sure about other classes yet, but every time my GWF tries to sprint and activate unstoppable at the same time, the game will freeze up and I will have to manually end the process. The same issue has happened to me on other classes before but I couldn't figure out the trigger and I can't log in to test the exact cause right now. I suspect shift+direction (dodge) + tab ability is that trigger though and that it will lock the game up for everyone if done at the same time.
Tested this a while ago. Confirmed that it happens on every character. I've got at least one of each now. Shift + tab + direction causes the game to lock up and you move endlessly in that direction running into a wall or off a cliff. The game will not accept any firther input from you and the process will have to be ended manually and the game restarted. I noticed while ending the process each time that the memory consumption jumps up by a couple hundred megabytes when this happens too.
Is it just me having some sort of hardware issue or does this happen to everyone else too?
Anyone else have this problem? Any advice on how to solve this other than "just don't do that?"
It happens to me the most on my GWF now. There are a lot of times when you want to charge forward into battle and trigger unstoppable at the same time, ya know? What if I try to dodge and trigger divinity at the same time on my DC? Well, I'll tell you what; if someone was counting on my heals, they're probably dead and I'm disconnecting. Maybe I'm applying curses right before charging ahead to whack them with my hulk hands on my warlock, but those curses are going to fade, like my body. My rogue is taking heavy damage because he's way OP. Time to get out of there! Dodge and trigger stealth. Whoops. I guess that was a bad idea! I think you can see how this is problematic.
I mean, I guess I can just try to be more careful (just don't do that) and wait a second between doing those things, but that's really less than ideal, especially in the middle of some fast-paced combat.
Shift-tab takes you to the Arc overlay. Could that be the issue?
Well that makes sense. I was assuming that combination of keys was trying to do something out of game and that the issue was related to that. I do use the arc OS launcher thing, so that may indeed be the root cause. But still, after pressing that combination of buttons I can't regain control of the game. I just have to hope I end the process quickly enough to not run off a cliff or get mauled by zombies or something.
THANK YOU. Shift Tab again will fix it yes. This was the whole problem. What is this Arc overlay thing anyway and is there any way to disable it entirely? Nothing looked any different on my screen when it happened and the character would keep moving so it just looked like it was locked up somehow. THANK YOU though. I won't have to disconnect when this happens now.
