GWF vs TR tactics

Hi there!

Can someone tell me (GWF) any tactics (or, maybe some cool bug exploit ;)) to kill an 19-20k GS TR 1 on 1 in this well-balanced game?

Here are some thoughts for developers:

We have (all stats taken from real characters existing on Drider shard)

GWF - 21k GS, PvP build, 43k hp, 4k def, 7k pow, 2k arp, 40% deflect (50% deflect severity), 27% crit chance
TR - 20k GS, PvP build, 37k hp, 2.5k def, 5k pow, 2k arp, 50% deflect (75% deflect severity), 50% crit (100% in stealth)

As you can see survivability of both chars almost the same (slightly less TR's hp compensated by deflect, def is ignored by arp, so no matter), and thus a fair fight is possible only if TR will not use invis at all :) Cool? :)

Skills:

TR - invis, CC, can shot down GWF by ranged attacks (Gloaming cut, etc) even without being caught.
GWF - no invis, almost no CC. Only one AOE skill (Come and get it) usable in PvP to make TR appear (Most TRs don't even allow themselves to be hit then).

Any comments?

Solution:

- Buff GWFs (as they have similar problems not only with TRs. Look at PvP top, you see many GWFs on first 10 pages?) - add more CC, for example return proning for Frontline Surge and Takedown.
- Any other solutions you can propose :)

Go sentinel intimidation with 10k+ power and AoE to catch the TR.
Else, it's pretty much a loss unless the TR makes some mistakes. Would kite you forever and improved dodges and movement speed in stealth are enough to nullify your gap closing and sprint. If by luck you get them, your stun is often deflected and they are free in 0.1 seconds.
Not a good matchup right now if you're not intimidation sentinel.

Take a look at dersidius post, good ideas there and you can suggest your own.

Sentinel is the only viable in PvP, so already tried. TR appeared on 1 sec, taking at most 5-7k dmg and shifted out to nowhere. After "Come and get it" CD i have at most 1/3 hp (TR manages to hit 3-4 times). So, useless against good TR.

It's what I talkin about. Pretty good "balance".

The biggest challenge with the rogue’s rework was figuring out 3 unique ways that they could approach combat without breaking it for everyone else. We like the idea of stealth, but it can be problematic in some instances, so we wanted to find a way to have a stealth system that feels satisfying, but doesn’t negatively impact the interaction with other players and critters in Neverwinter. We definitely wanted to make perma-stealth much more difficult to achieve and draining stealth while you’re attacking plays a big role in that. We realize that it can be pretty frustrating to fight against that with no real recourse, so we wanted make that something that was more difficult to achieve and decrease the damage output somewhat for rogues that choose that build.

If you in 1 on 1 fight running around is the best option at least don't let TR flank you and get combat advantage bonus
when your hp is half act to running hope that tr messing around with their rotation and use all their rotation and roll to catch you if you still alive do counter damage but if TR not mess up their rotation or our counter attack doesn't killed them then we are in a big trouble
just need to wait TR nerf coming need to be patience

Don't let TR flank you? If I remember right, TR has combat advantage in stealth all the time.

    Is this true? LOL
at least they need to catch us to land heavy damage and wasted stealth time or roll

Rly? How about gloaming cut with 10k crits? No stealth drain, pretty good range.

    ...until pigs fly :)

We waited for a HR arp and regen fix whole M4. I'm afraid we'll become extinct before M6, like dinosaurs.

Also, there is more need to buff GWFs than nerf TRs.

Not really. From PvE perspective - probably yes, but remove TRs from PvP, and GWFs will be pretty good.

you can wait to hit him with your Indomitable Strength daily,
but all that perma daze that fks our skill bar you cannot hit them.
imo first step is to get rid of ITC. that is probably 1st thing that makes the TR unkillable.

Then TRs will be running WK throwing DHS all around watching everyone to bleed out.

Same as versus a 18-19k gs TR, but one rotation more.
The thing is, a 18k TR is not killable either by a GWF. Nor is a 17, 16...
No idea how abysmal you need to go down in the gs ladder to find a killable TR. My 2,9k all-white pvp-troll TR stalemates a GWF but does not win. So, arithmetics suggest 7k or 8k as the highest gs TR whom a gwf can kill, providing it's a state-of-the-art 25k Senti with perfects, r9/10 and five oranges. And using the Domi exploit.

You probably meant "one rotation less the TR does to kill me" :)

you probably faced TRs with 4k-5k power.. just wait to face those with 7-8k power and talk about balance..

Answer to your question is "You'll never be able to kill a Tr" however CWs + any class (except maybe GF idk depending on build) will destroy any pesky back capper. So until they're fixed I guess you're forced to PvP with a CW friend sawwy :(

I assume you go intimidation gwf, 7k power is a bit low if you have 21k GS. And in another point of view, I think 21k GS for GWF is not equal geared as a 20k TR. Anyway i did not meet many top TRs. The TRs I met alway gave me a chance.

Tbh, that's very low. Ofc, even if you had double that it would still be useless against someone you can't even hit or see.

I think with the new artifact equipments it is not hard to have enough action points to activate slam. I mean if you just want to anti-TR in a sense, tak DC artifact and take a Black ice cloark. You could have slam up in a very short time.

A GWF asking for a bug to win in pvp. Mod 2 and 3 really left you guys with bad habits. I will enjoy this short window before they inevitably give you all some mindless button to win.

That is refreshing! Good tactics being discussed! Those on the TR-bashing thread could take something good from this stuff!

What tactics? Insane DoT from invisible PoS.

Learn to read for comprehension . . . maybe you, too, will learn something to get the upper hand on the TR. But based on your other posts, I don't have high hopes - could be wrong.
