I decided to log on to the game today to see the current state of where I was and what I could possibly do to merch up some AD in the future. However, I noticed some things that I found strange. Firstly, enchantment prices are way down compared to when I last played. It is no longer a 1:1 RP per AD ratio, now with over a 2:1 ratio using rank 4s. There was a surprisingly large amount of blue gear down to only ~2x-3x AD??? Maybe I didn't scroll enough, but even before the introduction of artifact equipment, blues were noticeably higher, and were definitely much more expensive since I last played than now it seems. Then zen backlog is only at ~300k, and people have told me it has been relatively unchanging recently, and higher rank enchantment prices aren't starting to rise again, especially for ones that should spike in popularity in light of the new changes?
I expected the exact opposite considering a new module approaching in just a few days with major (positive) reworks to a couple classes and more AD sinking content with new artifact gear. Did I miss something? Are there some explanations for this? My intention since not too long after last mod was to only continue to merch AD and come back to the game once I could "afford" to be competitive, but it looks like everything is a lot more affordable now? This is countered by the new release of more sinks, but I am still very surprised at the current situation, especially right before the release of a new mod.

Bots are keeping rp pricing down.. it goes back and forth depending on where cyrptic is at during the prevention cycle. Sadly, the REASON for the bots to make all this money has never been touched, which is the over the top grind level in the game.
Remove the amount of grind needed and allow players to farm it more easily for themselves and presto.. problem solved.
But of course that is never really touched.
In terms of blues, they are pretty worthless now, as they used to be for certain pvp builds and new 60s, but frankly anyone can get a set of purples for almost nothing for every class except maybe Scourge Warlocks. In fact they(the blues) have gone up in price as they can be used to refine artifact weapons, pretty much thier only value (other then throwing a odd one unto a augment stone for certain stats.
Are the current blues/enchantment prices good at the moment comparative to what the normal has been recently? Based on the prices I've seen in the past this looks like a great time to invest, but I am just skeptical since a new mod is about to be released if these could be higher than where they normally would be after the next mod "hype" dies down.
There is always a bit of a lull right before a new mod. People get either bored of old content or don't wish to invest a lot of time on things due to change drastically. a lot of players will often stop playing in the weeks before a new mod. You combine this with an increase in botting and you have a huge surge in supply with little demand.
This will change quickly, however. Once the mod drops there will be a new sudden demand to refine the new artifacts, and changes to classes will require new gear or builds. In addition to this, mod 5 will bring new ways to combat bots. One particular way will be fairly punishing to everyone, and will cause a large source of refinement material to become account bound. In effect destroying supply just as demand will start to increase. Prices will skyrocket.
