I was half asleep and working at the same time, but I'm pretty sure I remember they said something like "it's 30 mins on Preview for testing purposes so everyone can do it, but on Live it will be 1 hour".
So they changed the reward system so the rewards are based on the amount of DPS/Healing/Tanking etc players do? Graaxl3 said there were no Tiers based on Healing/DPS/Tanking other than a minimum threshold for participation .
Off-hand artifacts are chest loot. The fight is set up as a Heroic Encounter as far as the mechanics of getting your loot go but there will be no reward tiers for DPS/Healing/Tanking other than a minimum threshold for participation. Not that there will be much chance of victory if some players are not participating.

first place was a cleric, second was a cw with 13M dmg, i got gold reward with 9th position and 9M dmg
gold reward gave me a sw malevolent's armor (I did not get it in my inv for the bug already reported)
also, based on my act i was actually 7th in dmg so there's another cleic (or a tank) in there don't know the position tho
I have done the event 5 times now. Two were right after you put it on test and three were yesterday. Only one of those times did the group I was with win and that was the last Akro fight on live stream which I happened to get into. The first two the event was still bugged but I doubt we would have won it then.
I see a lot of people asking for it to be harder and the devs saying there going to make it harder. But i'd like to remind you that the test yesterday was not an even cross section of the games live servers, the 100 or so people that showed up for that event are the games most dedicated players and upon my minor inspection of other peoples gear I can with out a doubt say the event had a MUCH higher than average gear score with most everyone having perfect weapon enchants that I inspected.
I am not one to shy away from a challenge but having content designed for pugging with difficulty made for the top 5% of the games players where the fail rate is higher than 50% is not going to be fun for the majority of players. You might want to walk across the hallway and talk to the STO guys about how popular the more difficult (made for 5%'ers) advanced STF's were. Which they have had to redesign to be easier twice now after the outrage it caused.
Spending a lot of time only to fail with 0 reward over and over isn't going to be "fun" for a lot of people, and please remember your supposed to be making FUN content people WANT to play.
Learn from STO make it beatable then if it's too easy on live beef it up a bit slowly over time.

For the love of FSM, do NOT make it easier. Give people a challenge! FFS, we've gone 4 modules without seeing a dungeon harder than CN. Guild chat and these own forums constantly bemoan NWs lack of challenging content, and you want EASY Epic content? No. Just...No.
Forget the 5% ers. Make Tiamat so hard 99% of the genral population can't complete it. As modules pass we'll see new gear, higher levels, and more boons make their way into the general population. Tiamat will become easier over time, but SET THE BAR HIGH!
I agree that it shouldn't be tailored to the top 5% (or worse - the 1%'ers) however, if I remember correctly, CN used to be a wipe-fest for a lot of people when it was released. People ran it, died, figured out tactics, etc. They persevered. Perhaps this is the new CN?
Either way, I don't think fighting a 5-headed dragon should be too easy. I guess we'll find out in 12 days.
Ya know you say that, and it sounds cool when you say it... but I'm telling you it will be unpopular.

Mate, think back to NW's launch. The vast majority of parties entering CN wiped. You simply couldn't pug CN. Was CN unpopular? If so, why is CN still hailed as NWs gold standard for dungeon design?
It might be unpopular, but sometimes you need to give players what they need, not what they want. It's cliche, but true. Ask any parent, officer, manager, or member of The Rolling Stones.

Of course it will, something for the top 1% leaves 99% out in the cold. The math is really simple. And this why it will never happen. Cryptic has never catered to the top 1%. This encounter won't change that.

It doesn't need to cater to the 1%.
It needs to make more difficulty levels.
- EZzZzZYDRRRRRPMODE for 99%
- hardcore "you die for a month and hate the game" mode for 1% that actually play for a challenge. With rewards to suit our efforts.
Hardmode is actually getting something to drop.
Easymode is buying keys and opening lockboxes.
Imagine how pissed youd be if the tiamat encounter was super hard and didnt drop anything for hundreds of times.
(but of course you could get the stuff out of lockboxes .... cough)
Tried to do the encounter today , waited in the map until the encounter started , entered the Temple of Tiamat and was instantly teleported to the entrance of the Well of Dragons ( not just to the outside of the temple , got teleported literally to the other side of the Well of dragons map) , ran all the way back to the temple , entered the place and got teleported out back to the entrance of the well of Dragons , did this two or three more times until some five minute timer ran out then lost the ability to even enter the temple , complete farce , utter joke.
Finally figured out what was booting players out of the Tiamat fight instance immediately upon loading in. We've since made a fix, and players are once again able to enter Tiamat's temple without being booted as long as the battle is active.

Can we enter as a premade?
I don't want to carry undergeared players. I want to farm with other people at my gear and skill level.
In the ToD campaign tree the tasks that we need to complete in order to unlock the Temple of Tiamat are called Disrupt Thayan activity and Disrupt Cultist activity , see -
But in the Task requirements they are listed as Defeat the Thayans and Defeat the cult of the Dragons , so one of the tooltips needs to be changed , minor but annoying xD

This is great news , getting catapulted to the other side of the map was quite annoying.
One other thing though , after a few minutes the door of the temple stops being interactive , so how do players who quit or disconnect or drop out part way through the fight get replaced if new players are not allowed to enter the instance a few minutes after the encounter begins?
Feedback: Hardware Lag It's still terrible to horrible out there. This only affects the phase where you are fighting the heads and I can't narrow it down to a specific set of circumstances, but even with minimum graphic setting you can hardly get through the fight without major hiccups. I normally die from lag and restart at the campfire as soon as the cleric phase begins.

The data that I'm looking at looks "correct" to me, d'oh. What exact behavior are you seeing?
The issue we addressed was:
* If you enter the Tiamat boss battle area within the first eight minutes of it opening up...
** (basically anytime between X:00 and X:08)
* Then you immediately get booted back to Well of Dragons, consistently and always until the first 8 minutes are up.
Is this the same thing you're seeing? There's another issue we're looking into where some players randomly get booted back to the Well of Dragons zone entrance when several try to zone into the Tiamat battle area at once, so if some players get in and some players don't, then that's the yet-unsolved issue. (I could have clarified this better in my initial "fixed!" post.)
I was trying to get in to the Temple as soon as the gate opened and got booted with several others. Can't tell whether it was the bug that is supposed to be fixed or the bug you're describing. But it's true that many tried to enter at once at this point because a good bunch, maybe 15, were were waiting for X:00.
Thanks for the reply. I've talked to some others in the office and may have tracked down another issue that results in the same behavior.

I kept getting booted when i tried to enter while riding my mount, but when standing at the door i could enter and stay with no problem hope this helps.
We entered the temple today ( I even got in on the second try) and we got stuck in some kind of preparation phase? do we need a certain number of players inside the instance before the fight will begin? we only had 7 or 8 of us who came along on preview.
Again: Please reconsider the timing and let the fight take place from 5-25 and 35-55 so that we have five minutes to group up with friends in the same instance.
Thanks for adding the preparation phase, but not sure how the fight is supposed to work now. Do you need 25 people in an instance to get started? Because we are currently waiting and nothing happens through x:00 to x:20. Quest log just states "Prepare for Battle" inside the Temple.
Feedback: Comprehensibility As said, we are currently standing inside the Temple wondering how it's supposed to work. There need to be an explanatory NPC or something.
Same with Dragon Empire Treasures. What are they good for?

Wiping a few days until we figure out things is OK.
Don't be afraid to make this thing as hard as you can while making it possible to be completed.
