As most of you know, the new meta of completely changing full gear setups, old gear sets being 100% neutralized, new artifacts, new artifact equipment (don't get me started), abilities and feats being made overpowered and then nerfed to oblivion conveniently after I spend money to rank something up.... I think it is time I stop competitively pvp'ing and switch to PVE because it is free, and way less stressful.
So - I haven't went hardcore PVE since Castle Never was actually difficult, so I am a bit out of the loop. I was curious what setups people are running. If it is 100% party buffer, tank, KV and fighters recovery style? Are there any DPS options that can tip the scale and make the DPS GF worth it?
- Please, only real feedback. I have played since beta, I know the class in and out pretty well, I was just trying to figure out what people are rollin these days and think it could be a lot more fun than 5 million AD per artifact equipment that will be rendered useless the next patch lol.
Thanks guys
- Dom is officially signing out of competitive PVP.

The only trick is if you have enugh AD to make 1/3 Dps of CW you can survive the add swarm if not then its not worth to try to DPS.
Conq is only good for player with enugh money or AD.
Gf have realy bad stats in Crit Arp and Power he need tons of hp and he need tons of LS .
DPS of GF
22k GF+perfect enchant +stone = 10k well played CW no weapon enchant no stone.
I guess the days of Villains Menace and Cleaving for an *** load of damage are over lol?
Use ITF always and whatch your encounters use it only if both are up .
I like SM cuz WM deal 10 times more dps then clave and you can use CS for single target.
Also i use CS & GA combo if i need to block at least i will deal some DPS.
Daly VM & Cresccendo.
Encounters :LS & ET
I am sure you will figure it out .
Regardless of your Path any GF can tank in PVE successfully. For example, I'd be inclined to stack Recovery / Tenebrous and Defense / HP and use a KV + ItF rotation to boost your DR and DPS. You will be losing out on a bit of survivability offered by other Paths but this should be almost balanced out by your increase in DPS. From my experience, you would want to feat Armor Specialization and aim for about 52.2% base DR. This should increase your damage by 60% with ItF and max cap your DR at 80% with KV. Stacking Recovery will increase ItF uptime and hence your DPS. Draconic set would work reasonably well (not tested it on a Conq. build) I believe and should provide you with enough ArP to hit 24% RI.
For all but the new content Timeless should still be fine to use as a tank set depending on your skill. For the new content, having the max DR is really useful and the bonus from Draconic + KV goes a long way towards keeping the rest of the party up, especially when you're increasing their damage output by up to 60%.
I wouldn't consider giving up on either PVP or Conqueror just yet though. I think there is still a lot more our class has to offer and can provide.
I know you are our GF advocate, and depending on how much they will actually listen to us, compared to it just being a way to keep us a little more quiet, I'd love to see some skill return to the class and to pvp in general for that matter. There are just too many easy buttons and I can't sit there and theory craft on what a gold mine Cryptic has here that they are just pissing away with every single patch lol, I swear it is depressing to think about how good this game could have been.
But thanks for the info, I'll have to give her a rip later and see if it is even fun to do PVE on a GF these days
For me buffing the party is optional and not always needed as a tank as it not our main role in a group, but nice to have the option when it's necessary, for example I wouldn't use ITF unless I felt the movement and/or dmg boost was needed for the party to beat the dungeon/boss. KV I tend to only use when I feel the party is going to be taking unnavoidable dmg e.g. vs Valindra or if most of the party is melee and more likely to be getting hit.
If you want to actually tank like was probably needed in the old school days of CN (which I wasnt around for sadly) then it is possible and definately helps in the newer dungeons and some of the old ones. The challenge is finding good people to party with who actually understand the role of a tank in a party and let you play your role, which is a rare thing
