If I am teaming with 4 other players and we kill a boss:
1 If we're set to round -robin; can up to 5 items drop? but each individual player only sees one item, and decides weather or not they want it. Is my understanding of this correct? Is this how this works? Just like if you're soloing, but you all contribute to the kill. (When I say can up to 5 items still drop, I mean everything, pots, scrolls, equipment or enchantments)
2 If we're set to need or greed; can up to 5 items still drop? Can we each decide whether to pick up any of those 5 items or do we still just see one item? If I decide to pick it up, then we vote need or greed. If I decide not to pick it up, can a team mate then decide or will he/she not see it?
3. When opening a final reward chest; does it matter who opens it first? is it always the same regardless of loot mode chosen? Even leader decides?
lol.In case anyone is not familiar ELI5 stands for explain it like I am 5 years old..
Sorry I can't answer about the round robin. Some drops only you see, others the entire group will see. If the entire group sees it then in n/g it is rolled on.
Never used leader decides, but things have changed with chest with keys or are only open for you.
Loot that drops on the floor, with rare exceptions, is open for all to see. Exceptions are lockboxes, dragon hoard enchants and the like, stuff generated for a specific person. Boss loot that drops on the ground is open to all to try and pick up. Once you attempt to pick it up, the game then checks the loot plan you have selected and determines what to do.
I can't say I've played round robin in this game, but typically round robin just means anything that is picked up is given out in an order - first person gets first item, second gets second, etc etc, first person that went gets the 6th item, etc. It just goes around and around - probably someone could figure out a way to exploit that (picking up lots of trash until its their turn, and then stopping).
Need/Greed simply display the box on the screen and everyone has a choice. If anyone needs or greeds, then it goes to their inventory if they win. If everyone passes, it stays on the ground and I believe anyone can pick it up.
The amount of loot that drops I don't believe has anything to do with your loot setting. The loot settings for your party just determine how it is distributed.
The final chest is specific to you and I don't believe it matters at all who goes first, last or otherwise.
My friends and I always play round robin, because we hate the annoying, need greed window pop-up. We also believe that the gold gets divided up equally and automatically, no matter who picks it up. Same with black ice that you pick with the ax. I dont see any advantage to exploiting round robin. It not like you know that the 1st item is better than the 2nd item..etc.
